We wanted to post a more detailed description for our upcoming game "Apocalypse: A New Beginning." The end of the world you wouldn't think happens like the drop of an apple from a tree - sudden, unexpected. In truth, it could be seen across the last hundred years in hindsight, as plain as the nose on your face. World War I ushered in by the GROWTH of nations: nationalism, industrialism, and militarism. The second World War, a war of the GROWTH of politics; democracy vs. fascism vs. communism. Fittingly, there was no third World War, as there was no more "growth" but rather a general COLLAPSE, as if the world had been crushed under the foot of a titan. First, it was the nations losing their identity due to incompetent governments; then secondly came the economy, with greedy corporations (you know, the kind with their own armies, like Halburton); and lastly, the fickle finger of Mother Nature joined in the fray, with tornadoes, tidal waves, earthquakes, and solar flares disrupting all communication. All there was left to seize were tidbits of the way things were, and most importantly, power...

The N.E.O. (New Earth Order) knew all about power, a conglomeration of the largest corporate entities clinging to what little economic resources remained hoping to hold together the remnants of what could have been called their empire. What they are striving for is the recovery of what they always had: control, control of everything and everyone. They want to go back to the way things used to be in the good old days when might meant right.

The Natives were everyone who could not be bought; and in truth, they wanted the same things: power and control. But with a different end in sight... more basic, more fundamental, more tribal. Good and lofty goals, if achievable. But to gain them, they would have to be as equally cunning as a corporate lawyer, equally brutal as a corporate takeover, and equally ruthless as a Wall Street broker! Philosophers say: Be careful not to look into the eyes of the beast for too long, lest you become the beast." But the true danger of the Natives comes from the fact that they have nothing left to lose...

The conflict will be played out February 25th and 26th at Bear Claw Paintball with atomic weapons, biological weapons, terrorists, assassins, massed armies, natural disasters, and a few paintballs!
