i like to shoot classic older but good guns. For example naughty dogs freestyle. When playing with this and still getting people out it feels nice that my $175 gun now can still compete with luxes in the wrong hands. plus some people dont even know what i'm shooting. I have one new high end and the rest are older top ends. for example get a marq 6 or 7 with supercharged engine is 300. that is the same gun as a ripper that cost 1500. the only difference is milling and gas through. They both shoot the same and sound the same. I like to trade and buy guns all the time but wait a couple of years and then get it.

Barring financial difficulty... Basically a lot of people are gun whores. The test drive a bunch of markers and get rid of the ones they don't like. After you find that special one you "keep" using that one.

Sponsership reasons mainly. Require us to shoot The newest gun out there I use to use a axe and sniper but with the new sponsorship even my wife has to play with PE guns. I'm not complaint but in our agreement it says even recreationally we must use sponsor gear so now the axe and sniper might as well be classified as wall hangers so I sold them. Sponsor gave good prices on guns, paint, and gear so I can afford to let them go cheap for others to enjoy. Next season we are required to upgrade again (even if we only use it at practice or backup) so I will be getting a new haze geo3 (team colors) but can tell you it won't be $1000 price tag Just like everything there is a markup in price so stores make money and the manufacturers

I was going to post the same. Very small percentage of these people are selling gear due to sponsorships.
It's mostly gun whoring.

with no feedback a gun whore... sorry
i would say a lot of people just sell their gear cuz they are getting out of the sport or life has taken over.
i have 3 friends who recently gotten married and/or had kids so they had to give up their paintball and sports cars.

I just sold 4 markers: Tippmann A-5, Automag Classic, Ion XE, and Invert Mini. I loved tinkering and learning how they worked. I moved recently and despite all my nagging, my new friends do not want to paintball. Before I moved I was able to loan out my markers to people willing to play. I finally came to the realization that I would not be using all these guns often enough to justify keeping them. As much as I didn't want to let them go, I sold them to others who I hope will get more use out of them than I did.

I know, it's awesome!
Find the guns you love, wait 1-2 years, then snag 'em for 40% of original MSRP.
win win win

Ok..... LoL.
Its because once you step up into the $1200+ marker range, you can usually use them for a season and sell them for right around a grand +/- a few hundred depending on the marker.
So for example, I buy a luxe for 1500, use it for 6 months and sell it for 1200. I'm out only $300 for the season for a marker. Do this every year and you always have the latest and greatest.
