Yeah they would be stupid to trade Upton to the Rangers unless they get at least one of those two. And besides that they won't want anything else Texas is likely to be offering.

Problem is that the Dbacks are pretty desperate for middle infield help.
Kinsler has no business in LF, and Profar is a top prospect, but he hasn't even played AAA? I'd like to see him play a year there before anything, even half a year or something. If we get Upton, trade Cruz. Michael Young is going to DH almost 100% guaranteed, he's obviously not going anywhere and he's not going to ride pine for 16mil

Do you follow baseball? Why the hell would they trade Upton for Cruz?

They're going to get a shortstop one way or the other if they deal Upton. I've heard Asdrubal Cabrera often. I've also read that the Indians want Tyler Skaggs in a deal, but I don't see how giving up Upton and Tyler Skaggs for a decent shortstop is improving the club.

Royals want Neise pluse more. That's a lot for a guy who hasn't played MLB level ball.

Kinsler can play LF. It's the second least defensively challenging position. There's a reason they moved Braun and Soriano there.

Profar showed last year that he's ready for the bigs. Triple A is usually just the MLB reserve bench. Double A is where you start seeing difficult pitching. Profar did fine last year during his call up. He's ready.

Rangers are currently trying to trade Young to the Phillies. Nelson Cruz is not that great defensively. Certainly not as good as J. Upton. The Rangers also have a plethora of speedy CFer types. Cruz is the best DH candidate. Or maybe move him to first.

Not for 15mil a year he can't. That destroys and potential trade value he had.

I thought he denied the trade yesterday, could be wrong.. Either way I don't see him leaving.

Cruz does lack some defensive qualities, but it'd be easier to trade him and get something more valuable than a DH if we already have MY

Uh ... it's not like he can't move back to second base if they trade him. Kinsler will have no problem playing LF. IF they want to trade him, he can be billed as a second baseman.

Michael Young is done. If they continue to play him, Washington will lose his job. He has no more pop, doesn't work a count that well, and his averaged is dipping. At best, he can play first or third, but his bat doesn't carry at either position. The Rangers are waiting on him to waive his no trade clause. He ride the pine in Texas or start at third for the Phillies.

Cruz is a much better option for DH at this point (if they trade for Upton). Young is nothing more than a back up. Cruz won't net much due to being a free agent next year.

Lol that's funny because MY batted what 338 in 2011? He had a down year but he'll regress towards the mean and hit circa 300 this year. He'll get platooned at first with Moreland is my guess. I don't see kins getting traded before Andrus, because after these two years with Boras as his agent he's gone

I don't really care what they do, they'll make their decisions regardless of what I think and I'll watch lol. I just want to see another good year of Rangers baseball

He's 36. His career is winding down. His LD rate dropped slightly, but his GB rate when up a lot. Young isn't the kind of guy to beat out a ground ball. He's lost a LOT of power. Not just home run power, but extra base hits. He's a free agent at the end of the year, if the Rangers can get something for him, they will. At best, he's a number 2 hitter, but the Rangers already have one of those in Andrus.

As far as Boras goes, the Rangers didn't seem to have a problem dealing with him for Adrian Beltre. While it depends on how this offseason goes, I don't think that's going to be the issue. Andrus will never have a higher value than he has now. If they wait a season, he's only good for one year. He has two on his current, affordable contract. He's the top SS in the AL and top 3 in baseball.

Rangers management seems obsessed with Justin Upton, but the Dbacks are pretty adament about getting a shortstop out of it. Rangers have tried to trade for Andrelton Simmons and Asdrubal Cabrera in hope of flipping him to the Dbacks for Upton. No dice. To not flip Andrus now, when they have depth at the position, tells me they plan on keeping him long term.

I think talks about this trade are tabled for now. Come the deadline, if Arizona is struggling, they will be re-visited. Personally, if I were the Rangers, I'd be trying to get Giancarlo Stanton away from the Marlins. Way more ceiling. Dude would hit like 80 homers if he played in Texas.

They could **** off for that price. Dickey and Gee, sure. Dickey, Neise and others aren't worth it. However, I love the idea of an outfielder who can actually hit.

Diamondbacks sign Brandon McCarthy, I assume he's going to be healthy and pitching alright after that bad beaning.

You want the one of the top 3 prospects in all of baseball for a 38 year old with one more year left and a pitcher who's probably a number 4?

Well, yes. Dickey and Neise for Myers really wouldn't be a bad trade but I don't know how I feel about going into 2013 without either of them in our rotation. I'd rather there be someone with a bit of proven big league experience leading the rotation and I don't trust Santana to be that guy.

Michael Young was just traded to the Phillies.

He has been my favorite Ranger but it was the best thing to part ways. He'll see the field more than he would as a Ranger and now we can get some of our younger guys more experience.

Kind of a no brainer for him. His bat won't carry at first and third base is blocked. So he'd either be a bench player or get a chance to play full time in Philly.

Josh Lindblom and Lisalverto Bonilla coming to Texas
