Yeah, it was starting to fill in last week... there are some really good patches and then there are some missed spots... but it is much better than at the end of last year

Field was nice today. I know there was a team thing at dz, so #'s were down. We will try to set up a team practice at Jaegers soon.

Glenn passed away just before Christmas. Sadly missed.

The field was nice this last sunday - minus the rain we got for a bit and the small numbers because of the holiday. Mostly played 4v4 or 5v5.

My $.02-

I think that the focus of Jaeger is on 2 crowds and I think that things could be made better for both. I am not trying to critisize so much as make suggestions that could grow the sport in our area.

1. Recball/parties.
Change up the indoor fields. You have the best and probably most expensive facilities in KC, maybe the state, but you have had the same layout and cover types on your indoor fields for years. How about letting each field have its own theme? IE 1 field keep the barrels, 1 field hyperball, 1 field air bunkers, etc. Or at the very least let your rec ball players choose their field before play like every other place I have ever played at lets you do. I think that keeping players confined to the closest field during rec play, though convenient, does not provide the best value to your rec ball players. After all, the focus should be on letting them have as much fun as possible so they will come back and grow in the sport. Being able to choose from a number of fields adds value if you ask me and won't cost Jaegers a dime. Also, invest in some thermal lense masks. I took my brothers one time and we didn't have enough masks and they had to pay $2-3.00 for some of the sorriest masks I have ever seen. I know masks aren't cheap but keep some thermal masks and charge a coupel extra bucks for a "mask upgrade". Most of your rec players have already spent $25-30.00 and a couple extra dollars to be able to see down there would be worth it to them. You all know that nothing is more frustrating than spending your money and not being able to see. I know that I have heard a lot of people complain about visibility down there and lord knows I have shot enough blind newbs down there. Also, advertise your membership deal more prominently, it is a good deal even if you only play 5-6 times a year. Remember, your goal with rec players should be to get them to have so much fun they will get addicted like most of us. That first taste has to be good and they have to think that they got their money's worth.

Speedball/tourney players:

Take one of the big indoor fields and fill it with air bunkers. Your indoor airball field is kinda limited, or rearrange the player area to take better advantage of the space.

Also, offer some cheaper paint for carry out only. I know that you don't want to make your field paint seem less valuable, but why not compete with wal-mart and online retailers for carry out paint. Many of your players would even pay a couple extra bucks for the convenience. Why not try to make a little $?

Overall, I think that Jaegers is a gem in the KC area with the best-shall I say only place to play during the winter. Let's face it, most of KC has their first experience playing paintball there. Make it just a little bit better for them and you will have a better tourny scene down the road.
