The Cowboys secondary when from absolute crap to legit this offseason. I'm still concerned about Brodney Pool, but the defense should be much improved this season.

I've never said our defense has been improving over the past few years because it hasn't. But I'm definitely looking forward to this season. With the addition of Carr and Claiborne our secondary is already getting a boost. We still have Ware, Ratliff, and Lee who looks like he will be a very good linebacker for years.

If we say it every year, we're bound to be right sooner or later... Seriously though, I can't remember the last time I actually felt like our secondary was going to be legit. An improved secondary could've made the difference in some of the close losses the Cowboys had last season... Particularly the week 14 game against the Giants when Eli was able to pick our secondary apart. I still feel that, had the Cowboys beat the Giants that week, it would've been the Cowboys that won the NFCE and made a run in the playoffs (not saying SB, but who knows).

At any rate, I can't wait for the season to start!

I've been saying our secondary is bad for a few seasons. I mean it's pretty ridiculous when we can get a stop on a first down run, then Ware get's a sack 7 yards behind the line, and then anyone with a decent arm to throw it for a 30 yard gain and the first down.

^^^ Yep. Statistically, it doesn't make much difference that an opponent grinds out a first down on three downs, but giving up multiple first downs as you described takes an emotional toll on the team.

It does. I'm excited this year though with the additions of Claiborne and Carr. Those two alone will give our secondary a boost. Now we just need a pretty decent safety to add with those two.

Also, let's try not to forget what he did in week 2 or 3 against the 49ers with a broken rib. Also led a drive in the 4th quarter to take the lead against the Pats but Brady had about 2 minutes and, as stated before, our secondary was garbage so he went down the field and scored.
