it would be a terrible business decision. look at the weather in ca. why would you want to open a place that is only used when the weather is ****ty or really late at night. Doesnt make much business sense.
just got back from a medical call from the next town over. dude stabbed himself in the chest. He got medaflighted out. We found out from someone that this is his third time doing it

i dont think it would ONLY be used for bad weather conditions.

Indoor is also nice for AC in the summer. Major benefit there.

answer the question yourself would you rather play indoors or outdoors
do you want to pay the ac bill if your a business owner? will that attract enough customers to pull away from already established outdoor fields to make it worth having a building, lighting, water ect
think like it was your business not like your a paintball player wanting something

I'm biased cause I get paid to play indoor with the team. And I'd rather have a consistent temp and unlimited paint from reball for practices. Scrimmages for tournaments outdoor.

take all the free crap away and be honest with yourself. lol
if both were free which one would you rather do. Unless the tourney is indoors your playing different lighting. its harder to communicate. the turf/groud isnt the same so its different to run and plant on. I personally would rather practice in the elements im going to playing events in/on
we have the season change here in new england and I can tell you this. when the weather breaks the indoor fields are dead. thats why the only one that has really stayed alive is one that has an outdoor field and runs their own tourney series and has a few different stores.

so.cal used to have several indoor fields but they all closed down. like necanes said, it's not smart business but definitely cool for the players... until the floor gets coated in paint til the point your running but going nowhere.

I'm also discussing reball. And in that sense it's very smart. But we also have maybe 20 players that play in the state plus renters/super noobs.

more often then not reball places close down first. its not the real paintball experience. you have to worry about people stealing the exp reballs, cleaning the reballs. people dont like shooting slower or their loaders jamming. there are more issues. You like it because its free for you. if you had free paint and got payed to play outside you would like it too lol.
the thing thats wrong with this industry is the players always want something from the business owners but are the first to run to online and order crap online to say $3 or because they dont have to get in their car and drive. if you want more fields or more options you gotta support your local shops/fields and make them see its worth opening up something else or adding to what they have

True about the benefits. That'd be mad decent. And our shops only seem to close because they're funneling coke.

Finally bought eflexes, gonna see what all the fuss is about next week, I'm actually pretty excited lol
Being from El Paso, I'd really like an indoor field, its all sand here, and its a pain to clean everything, and my cleats are always dirty as crap from paint and sand getting between the spikes, but as a business owner, its pretty much a retarded thing to open since the cost is so high its insane, and you would never be able to cover your costs since there will already be established outdoor fields with a large committed customer base, and indoor fields are going to be largely tailored towards speedballers, which means you will maybe have 20-30 customers from your area that consistently spend money at your field, and the odd party of renters that may or may not show up. PLUS the indoor turf associated with actual paint means you need a solid sub floor that will allow for drainage, which will cost EVEN MORE, and if you use reballs, they will pretty much be stolen, guaranteed, especially in El Paso. tl;dr, it takes a ton of money and requires the knowledge that you will loose it and probably fail to open an indoor field
