Erik, does this have to do with a concept you brought up on google a few weeks ago where technology might get to a point where the cards in our cameras will mimic film in their ability to fail and create their own abstractions much as film does?

I wish it was my prediction about a pleasing "digital noise" what would emerge as flash memory as becomes corrupted.

Alas, it is from my camera phone. Small sensor + high compression = awesome.







I cropped out the bottom corner, flipped it, and increased contrast/sat with USM.

She looks a little hunched over in the second one which probably makes her look chubbier. I haven't had much experience shooting bigger women but I think there have to be some more pleasing angles than straight on that will complement her curves.

Is that a b800 camera right or just natural?

yah, I just liked the lighting. These have only been put on flickr. I'm horrible at posing and some of has to do with being able to get them to pose without having them think, "I bet he's doing this because I'm fat". lol

There are some really good ones in this set...i'm just moving through it and uploading as I go.

I tried to use a lot of the setting to hide some of the "bigness" but it's one of those things where when people see her in a picture that know her they will say, "aww mandi is pretty" not "wow, big girl".

Yeah the first one definitely compliments her the best out of the 3 but I do like the last one allot..

Just a shame that her smile is somewhat gummy.

Have you tested to see about how many pops you get out of the 1600 and vagabond?

nah, after about 100 or so it was still showing "Full". I expect I'd get 500+ as I was shooting 1/32-1/2 most of the time w/modeling lamp off.

I'll no doubt get some hate-orade on this one from someone but she isn't exactly an ugly girl, she might be chubby but at least she looks confident and has a smile on her face.

oh, I actually think she is pretty. It's just extremely difficult to get a whole lot of different poses when we have the expectation of "skinny=pretty".
