honestly its alot easier to just raise dwell to 21 and set lpr to lowest. if you want a smooth shot.

on my im9 i have

dwell 17
lpr 3 turn out super smooth

for smoother shot.. higher dwell and lower lpr.. so opposite of what kraze said..

normally older dms from dm7 and below loved dwell of 21.. i have not actually confirmed this myself for guns higher dm8-dm10.. but i ASSUME its still the same. dwell 21 and a low lpr.

I have my dwell at 21 and dwell as low as possible w/o any shootdown or fsdo, and it shoots buttery smooth, so yes it does apply from my experience.

i set my friends dm8 to 21 and shot it all day saturday, it was amazing.

Another concern:
I've read that a lower lpr will decrease FPS consistency. True?

Also, how do these settings fare with the accuracy?

edit: Can anyone provide a video / tut on an updated full LPR cleaning?

The lower lpr can cause bolt stick if tuned too low. That is why I like to increasse my lpr by 1/2 turn from lowest to ensure my bolt will continue to cycle.

Accuracy depends on consistancy which depends on either how well your hpr is serviced and your dwell setting. If too low dwell it can lead to drop offs... However 18ms for DMs are generally sufficient.

Add: Rule of thumb. Your dm should perform well in stock setting. If your marker is not working well... Reset everything to stock and trouble shoot from there.
