Many people must be thanked for there help. Also if it wasn’t for the Luxe owners wanting this done and the great minds in the shocker forum, this would not have been posted.
The version of this mod was first invented by Gisgo09 as the “Spring Mod V.2” for shocker bolts. I take no credit in bringing you this mod. My hat goes off to him.. I have only designed the means to make it work for the Luxe.
With a shocker sprung system you could machine out the back of your bolt to the correct dimensions and drop a custom made spring in.
The luxe is not so easy.
The problem is the bolt guide. The Luxes bolt guide is too large in the back to simply drop a spring over.
I have solved this problem and the spring mod for the Luxe is finally here!
How does it work?
In simple terms - The Luxes bolt will be forced to cycle forward with spring tension now. Because of this spring assisted force, your dwell can be lowered and any first shot drop off or bolt stick will be gone.

Pro’s - What will it do?
Decreased dwell (as low as 8ms)
Increased efficiency
Lowers operating pressure
Greatly reduced fsdo and bolt stock (in most cases it’s gone for good)
Con's
Decreased rate of fire. From 25 balls per second too 17-20 balls per second. (Similar to the Adjustment Manifold Screw)
Why is the dwell going to drop?
Your bolt will be force to move forward by spring force now.

Why will it fix first shot drop off? (fsdo-bolt stick)
The bolt will be forced forward, giving those o-rings a starting push. Fsdo-bolt stick is caused by poor moving-fitting o-rings. The dynamic o-rings in the Luxes bolt and firing chamber will be forced to break loose every time the trigger is pulled.
BUT – If your bolt and firing chamber o-rings fit-move very tight, then you still might have some fsdo.
Poor o-ring tolerances in spool valve makers are the main cause of bolt stick-fsdo. Always try to achieve the best moving and sealing firing system you can. A sprung bolt can only push so hard.
How it’s going to work.
Remove your bolt guide. You will drop the spring over your newly machined bolt guide. There will be a bumper at the back of the bolt guide instead of an o-ring now. Press the bumper down with the spring and screw the bolt guide back onto the latch. Drop your bolt over the spring and screw your firing chamber over it. Your done.
Your bolt will remain closed in your breach until it is aired up. Once you air up your Luxe your bolt will cycle back and wait for a trigger pull to fire the gun.

Q: What will need to be sent in?
A: Your bolt guide and bolt.
Q: What will be sent back?
A: Your bolt. Machined to the correct size and depth to except the spring. Machining will be polished smooth.
Your bolt guide. Machined down to the correct measurements to except a spring and bumper to fit over it.
Two new bumpers. One will be on your bolt guide and the other one is a spare.
The spring. I use Rhino1xl springs. Proven springs with a great track record for fit and spring force.
Q: Can I take the spring out and use the Luxe?
A: Yes. You will then be back to your old Luxe. (Watch the video)

Q: Can my NOX bolt and NDZ can work with this mod.
A: Yes. Both work great.
Q: Does it work with the EF Rod?
A: Yes. The EF rod works great with this mod.
Q: Can I use my same o-rings?
A: Yes
Q: I am not getting good fps over the chrono and some fsdo.
A: If you have a feathertouch screw, remove that.
Q: Can I use the adjustment manifold with this mod?
A: Yes. Turn the screw in over the crono to reduce the kick of the luxe even more. When you start to see bad fps groupings/very slow cycle rate, then you have gone to far.
Q: Will I get better air efficiency?
A: Yes. With a lower dwell and a lower fsdo settings, your Luxe will not use up extra dwell to cycle. Too low of a dwell will produce inconsistent feet per second results and possible drop off.
Too high of a dwell is just wasted air. My tested Luxe had good fitting o-rings with a dwell of 8-9ms and 0 on the fsdo setting. Shot great with no first shot drop off. (Watch the video)

A: Yes. The polishing mod will make your o-rings slide even better. The polishing mod helps clear up o-ring related problems. It is a complement to the spring mod for sure.
Q: If I had to chose between the Luxe spring mod or the polishing mod, what mod should I do first?
A: I would get the spring mod done first. If you still have any issues or you want to make those parts move super smooth, then get the polishing mod done also. A polished / sprung Luxe would be the dream set up.
Q: Can I still use the same lube with a sprung luxe?
A: Yes. What works for you in the past will still work now. I found MonkeyPoo mixed with a little eclipse gun oil works the best.
Q: Why can’t I get 8ms of dwell and a setting of 0 on my fsdo setting?
A: Your o-rings tolerances are bad. All o-rings of the same size are not really the same size. Some will fit looser and some will fit tighter. Swap out your bolts size 16 o-ring with another.
Keep this up until it moves better in the firing chamber. Same goes for the firing chambers three inner size 17 o-rings.

Dont worry guys. It works great. You will notice that the non sprung bolt was also all over the place.
I forgot my freak inserts when i went to the field. So I had to use a .693 that didn't fit the balls that great. Testing the day before I got 4, 285's in a row! I have never seen that.
If the non sprung fps was dead on and the sprung was off then that shows bad results. But they were both up and down.
Post up your fps with a dwell of 8 and fsdo of 0 without a spring! I dare you..

As an engineer, I find that sometimes even the little modifications (i.e. shaving a bolt guide or clam-shelling a bolt) can sometimes yield unfortunate results. I'm not trying to be a hater at all! I think this is a great idea, I'm just naturally hesitant.

I have my shocker with the v2 spring mod and it shoots without the spring mod just fine. this should be the same for the luxe mod. it just will should softer and with no bolt stick with the mod. no bolt stick EVER!
I'll also see if I can run tests with the EF Rod and I'll see if I can borrow the NDZ can from Trotter and see what the diff is there as well. I just hope I have enough paint left after practice to run all the tests. LOL
It would be nice for the cold weather worries; save, I do know that there is a certain point where enough air needs to be dumped into the chamber for proper consistency, which is my primary concern with this mod.

hmm... don't you have the EF Rod? isn't that reducing the amount of air in the chamber? I thing the bolt guide is only milled down slightly and I'm sure it would have no greater effect than the NDZ can does and it would actually be less effect. I don't no the numbers but I'm sure this mod isn't going to greatly effect the air that is dumped.
