They atleast have meds for HSV-1 and 2. To make breakouts less frequent and painful.
Herpes won't kill you, or even really effect your quality of life. Aids is a death sentence.

Love ya bro, but you're more wrong than you know. My Dad, who lives with me and I am very involved in his medical treatment, has full blown AIDS. When he was diagnosed, his t-cell count was in the 20's. At 200, you have AIDS. A normal person has thousands per ml.
He takes over $3000 dollars a month in medications, provided to him by the state (its theorized he got it from working in the psycho prison in the 80's and 90's). Quality of life was lowered, but combined with bodybuilding and nutrition (he's the workout partner I vaguely mention), his medication and lifestyle has gotten his T-cell count back in the thousands, and his viral level is undetectable (meaning they can't find it in his blood at all anymore, though it is still in his body).
Doctors told him less than a month, start planning to die.
**** what the doctors tell you, think for yourself.
I'm also the busted veteran with 4 herniated discs in his back.
