ideas for body

ok guys i need some ideas on what to do. im selling my second ion after i fix it up. but the body is wrecked. and i mean WRECKED (ill post piks later). i had the bright idea of trying to get all the rubber off it and took a blade and started to cut it up but now it just looks like crap. i dont want to go buying a aftermarket body for it so dont go there. i dont have the money to buy a stock body (only got about 5 bucks on me) but i need it to look good before i sell it. should i finish up taking the rubber off? or should i do something else? any help would be awsome

Well, you could wrap it in duct tape and have the second (I'm working on this myself) Red Green Ion in the world.

yeah just keep cutting it and sand the body and go from there

I've taken the rubber off of mine before I got a shiny new NDZ body (ooooo ahhh)..... but the trick with it, is to take a dremel tool with a soft tip to the rubber part and carefully strip it off the body. As you get closer and you can start to see hints of green, take sandpaper to it. Continue to use finer sandpaper as you continue, and I would recommend wetsanding the body and using crocus cloth.

thats not a bad idea but i think people would rather buy a stock body without pieces missing. i think ill do that for my other ion body. and how do you get green from a black body???

i dont know what they are talking about the green. i did what you are atempting to a body the rubber actually goes a little deeper than the surface. if you have access to a dremel use it with the lowest grit sanding wheel you have and grind it all smooth then use some like 800 grit sand paper and wet sand it then finish it however you want. you could paint it bondo it then paint it if you have some or just leave it the way it is after you wet sand it with 800. if you don't have a dremel you will have to do it by hand. good luck
