Has anyone made or considered making an anti-rollback bolt guide for Shockers like the DeadlyWinds HollowPoint Ion bolt and Geos? They would have to be used with only open-faced bolts (like the Eigen ) but could help with stack clipping.
They are very thin strong enough that I cant crush them with my fingers though and I have a grip like a terminator lol.
I drilled all the way down with a #21 then tapped it for a 10/32 thread thats acctualy an ion grip screw lol. The I just drilled a couple small holes side by side for the slots and did the rest with a needle file. Then I put some blue loctite on the screw and assembled the bolt kit in the gun and put an allen in the breach to adjust it so a ball has very little play to move like you see in that pooty bolt video.
Simple and rounded, I like it. Honestly noticing a decrease in breach breaks? Hard to tell unless over time. I'm thinking a little epoxy build up like a tape mod to taper behind the screw.
Lol. Tomorrow I'm gonna test it. First Im gonna remove the screw and put a set screw in it's place and set it up with my chrono. Then switch it back over to the screw and see if there's any FPS loss ir anything of the sort. I honestly never have chops or breach breaks in my shockers to begin with so Im pretty sure I cant realy test it for that over time anyway. I was just bored yesterday and had an idea for a simple ARB mod and figured it would something fun to do lol
I dont have any problems in the breach either but I'm interested in the arb not letting the air expand. I just ordered some 3/8 delrin stock ill machine after Thanksgiving break and see how that goes. And Jim since you already have a bolt guide set up you can test if youd like.
Looking at mods like this I struggle trying to visualize how it actually could decrease breach breaks?
I suck at mechanical engineering.

The general idea is to keep the ball stack indexed properly by not letting the one in the breech sit too far back into the bolt face. That said, I've never had problems with the stock bolts in my shockers. The reason I'm going to be incorporating an ARB into my guide is not for rollback, but rather to cut down on gas pre-expansion and give it just a tad better flow.
