Here's a question(s) that I'm sure people may be interested in.

If you could only take one marker from your collection to the afterlife "lol" which would you take?

Also if you had to chose only one for a big tournament which one would you go with?

Ah, the paintball connoisseurs most dreaded question.
I'm a little surprised it hasn't been asked yet, but from you, 711, I wouldn't have expected anything less.

To answer the first question, I think it may be obvious that I honestly have no idea. If (and only if) I could narrow it down to only a few keepers, I'm sure my collection would be much much smaller. But alas....

As for the second question, that would depend on format. Tournament speed ball type formats where air fills are closely at hand, I would probably take a Matrix- something I don't mind getting a little dirty and is super smooth because of being well broken in, like the Flagged Ironmen Prototype. I would say I prefer spool valves overall by a very small margin.
Big games where air isn't as handy and require only a few drops of oil would probably warrant a Viking or Excal.

In a perfect world, I'd have one of each in my gearbag for every day I play, a Viking, Excalibur, Autococker, and Matrix. Lately it's been an Autococker. I find myself slowly breaking away from the whole 'accuracy by volume' mindset. And it's a lot easier on the wallet now that I'm no longer sponsored for paint.

I just noticed that my video made it into your first post about the reflex cocker, heh. I still envy the amazing markers you have in this thread. Very well done, and thanks for the little bit of publicity :-D

'The Gator' Ironmen Matrix
A very special 1-off Matrix. Who/what/when/why? It remains a mystery.
Not entirely accurate as I have one of the three squids

The Gator was brought to Duane and Telford, but ended up being rejected in favour of the design with the milled off airchamber. They couldn't remember who made or designed it though. Rumours has it there's 1-2 more. I almost had a bit of sellers remorse when I walked into my pb room and saw the empty spot

Indeed. Now that you've just recently bought Rachel's squid, this story long told no longer applies. Had you not, you wouldn't have screwed up the Matrix. (Pun intended)

It's in good hands, though on the other side of the world now. I would love to get a random PM about its history from its creator, if he ever happened to see this thread. I want facts, not rumors!

That Trauma matrix was built and milled by FreeFlow in Victor,NY owned by Ethan Steiner at the time. Shocktech did not build or mill those.

Actually, my Trauma Matrix is a Shocktech product, milled and built by them. Only 25 were, which is why you've probably never seen it.

You're thinking of the much more common Freeflow Trauma Matrix, an honest mistake, really. An easy way to tell them apart would be the giant Freeflow stamp on the side.

Here's a Freeflow Trauma:

It sounds right because it is right.

Indeed. The search term popped one of your old sale threads up.

Here's a bit more information on the F1's (Taken from Bones' Article and interviews with Drew):

Quote:
While every other Matrix listed in this thread can be called a distinct “brand” or milling pattern, the F1 series are exceptions. The 5 guns that make up the group are listed here because they were the prototypes that Aardvark paintball built when they were experimenting on how they wanted to produce the Matrix. While they do not stand out as the lightest nor the flashiest, each one was unique.

F1's were mostly all solid ano, no windows, all slide switch, and blue bolts. First gen volumizers, stock high rises / dozer rises. The trademark milling is the design on the top back of the gun, the ACPP design above the ASA, and an aardvark on the sides near the back of the gun.
Later Aardvark Matrix guns all had windows cut into the body, the bolt covered with a sleeve made out of Lexan. This window allowed one to see the bolt function during shooting. F1's obviously didn't have any windows cut into the bodies, so they are the only Aardvark Matrix Guns that can actually use the special (and quite rare/expensive) Slam Bolts that Aardvark also made.
