You can use a nice set of need nose pliers in place of Boss tool to get the regulator open. Just be careful because the brass will mare easily if you slip. Then you'll need the 3mm hex driver and a pair of pliers to unscrew the plunger from the piston. The Boss tool isn't required to get the regulator open, but it ensures the brass piece doesn't get damaged while taking the reg apart.
Replace the regulator seat when you get the reg taken apart. Boss mentioned in another thread that it seems to be the cause of reg creep. You might want to replace both of the piston orings while you have the reg open. Make sure to buy the correct material orings for the piston orings, one buna and one urethane. Relube the piston orings with Dow 33. Also lube the other orings in the on/off section with Dow 33. DON'T USE HATER SAUCE on any oring, it has a petroleum additive that's bad for orings. You can get the orings/reg seat you need from jtpaintball parts. Boss also have videos on how to disassemble and reassemble the regulator on youtube.

That's a great idea. I'm defiantly going to do this.
