State of the Game in MI? I have been out of it for sometime.

What type of PB do you prefer to play?

You will find a good variance of woodsballers and speedball/Tournament players on these forums. What type of ball do you play?

I played it all in the past. But woods ball would be my first choice. Just wondering what most are playing these days. Saw another post that seemed to indicate that Speedball was the prefered mode of play for that player.

By speedball, I took his comments that he wanted a changeable field, I would assume that would mean Inflatables that could be moved around.

Do many Fields have these types of Speedball courses now? And do they change them up? Is this what players today want to play on?

Speedball in my day would have been a small course with fixed bunkers/props. Spools,pallets,buildings,ect......

Pump paintball is making a bigger and bigger showing in Michigan (as in a lot of places I think).

As far as fields go, spool or hyperball(tube) fields are still a thing. Many fields also have air bunkers that they rearrange into the layout for any big upcoming tournaments.

The two best would be Cru and Hell Survivors. Cru has 2 speedball fields and is really the best option on this side of the state for a true speedball field. Hell survivors has one speedball field, as well as the best woodsball in the state. Cant go wrong with either of them though!

What side of the state are you referring to?
Action(south of detroit) has a speedball field
Hells in Pickney has speedball fields
Cru has speedball fields
TCP has speedball fields in Grand Rapids and Lansing(GR inside, Lansing outside)
There are quite a few other fields around, though these are the one's I've played at/can comment on. Try them all and go where you like best!

So what makes a "Good" Speedball Field?

Do you use Speedball as a generic term to refer to Spool, Tube, or Inflatables?

So a field that had any of these types of fields would have a Speedball Course?

Are Fields with Inflatables more appealing to players today? Or does it just need to be a well designded fixed prop field?

Back in the "Day" Woodsball was King and Speedball was a diversion usually played at the end of the day. I have been told that "Speedball now has a huge following today. To the point that some players prefer it greatly over Woodsball if given a choice.

When I had my field we played it at the end of the day usually. Using our town area and it was played with 1 flag set in the center of town. Each side had a Arch as a gateway to each side of the town. Needed to advance the flag through the other sides Arch. Each Team started at their Arch.

Keep in mind in the late 80's and early 90's the National Tournaments were played on unimproved woodsball fields. At least that was what it was like in Nashville and Pitsburgh when we went. No doritos or snakes back then.

Futureball has some woodsball but if ur a hardcore woodsballer then go to hells cuz Futureball is pretty laid back rec ball.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubNzrceU2fY This is basically speedball at its best. There are a ton of other videos that can depict speedball, this is just the first that came to my mind.
