2011 NT Info and videos [UPDATED]

San Diego, California (November 2, 2010) - For 2011 Dye Precision has taken their flagship NT marker and improved it, yet again. This was not a simple task with the existing NT performance, but that was the bar DYE engineers set for themselves: to make the best even better. In a word: refinement. The result: The superior 2011 NT. Refined to give the user higher performance, even better reliability, and greater range of adjustability.

The 2011 NT provides a new lower 110psi operating pressure allowing you to shoot the most fragile paint on the market today. A simplified color-coded airflow spacer kit allows you to quickly change your set up to fit your exact performance needs. An improved cycling system yields better consistency and overall reliability. The new 2011 NT is sophisticated elegance combined with sheer performance that leads the industry.

• IMPROVED rear spool bumper
• Redesigned solenoid manifold
• Adjusted bolt force balances
• Simplified airflow and spacer kit system
• Updated Recoil/ Bumper System and Bolt kit

For 2011 Dye Precision has taken their the flagship NT marker and improved it, yet again.

Improved Rear Spool Bumper

1. Reduces impact force, resulting is smoother operation.
2. Eliminates possible spool bumper failure.
3. Eliminates possible spool stick.

Redesigned Solenoid Manifold

1. Modified airflow provides more consistent airflow to bolt kit.
2. Creates back pressure to slow spool return and reduce impact force.
3. Helps prevent foreign particles from damaging the solenoid coil.
4. Slightly increased dwell helps improve velocity consistency.
5. Maintains superior rate of fire.

Adjusted Bolt Force Balances

1. Allows for lower operating pressure range, 110psi - 150psi.
2. Reduced recoil, smoother shooting, gives better control of marker.
3. Creates a quieter sound signature.
4. Ability to shoot much more fragile paint.

Simplified Airflow And Spacer Kit System

1. Color-coded.
2. Simplified configuration for desired marker performance.
3. 3 bolt tip inserts, red =.275”ID, blue =.300”ID, green =.340”ID.
4. Only 3 spacer inserts, red, green and yellow.

Four Recommended Settings.
1. Super smooth – lowest recoil, quiet, shoot the most fragile paint
a. Green bolt tip insert, no spacer insert
b. Operating pressure approximately 110psi
c. Efficiency: 1200-1300 shots off a 68/4500 tank

2. Stock settings from factory – balance of all performance features
a. Red bolt tip insert, no spacer insert
b. Operating pressure approximately 120psi
c. Efficiency: approximately 1400 shots off a 68/4500 tank

3. Efficiency one – better efficiency, still well balanced performance
a. Red bolt tip insert, green spacer insert
b. Operating pressure approximately 130psi
c. Efficiency: approximately 1500 shots off a 68/4500 tank

4. Efficiency two – ultimate spool valve efficiency
a. Red, or blue bolt tip insert, yellow spacer insert
b. Operating pressure approximately 140psi
c. Efficiency: 1600-1700 shots off a 68/4500 tank

Updated Recoil/ Bumper System and Bolt kit:

The Dye engineering staff have removed the rear spool bumper off the back bumper on the spool and replaced it with a new bumper on the spacer rod. This new bumper is the same part used as a seat on the hyper regulators and is a proven design.

The second bolt kit improvement is the bolt outside o-ring changing from 016 to an 015. This is due to the small but improtant design modification to the bolt dimensions. Sightly altering the forces and balance on the bolt kit, the NT11 now uses a much lower operating pressure than before. The NT11 production guns are all set at 120psi and shoot 280-300fps. The difference is that the self closing valve closes later so slightly more gas is used with every shot. The end result is that the user now has a much greater choice of how to setup the gun. With the right tuning the NT11 shoots 300fps from a 110psi to the maximum of 150psi.

The NT11 comes now with three bolt kit tip inserts (red is .275”, blue .300” and green .340”) and three bolt kit volume inserts. The bolt tip inserts are the same as the NT10 (with the added larger diameter .340” green colored tip), the chamber inserts have also been redesigned to make them work better. The combinations below are settings we have tested with great success but there are of course many more possible combinations based on user preferance:

For 280-300fps using normal paintballs:
Lowest possible kick, softest on paint, least gas efficient
o Use green bolt tip insert (.350” ID, largest), use no bolt kit chamber insert
o Runs at 110psi for 290-300fps with a .688 barrel. With a Dye Carbon Fiber barrel close to 100psi
o Efficiency roughly about 1200-1300 shots of a 68 / 4500
o Watch out for the pressure getting too low, this will cause the gun not to cycle if orings in bolt are not very good or not well lubed

- Stock settings from factory
o Red bolt tip insert, no bolt kit chamber insert
o Runs at 120psi for 290-300fps with a .688 barrel
o Efficiency roughly about 1400 shots of a 68 / 4500

- Good 7 man settings (balanced more on efficiency)
o Red bolt tip insert, green bolt kit chamber insert
o Runs at about 125-130psi for 290fps
o Efficiency roughly 1500shots of a 68/4500

-Efficiency settings
o Blue or red bolt tip insert (I had mixed results on which is better, need more testing)
o Yellow chamber kit insert
o Runs at about 140psi, seems to get very good efficiency

The bolt back cap o-ring is now 1”. This will reduce the likelihood that bolt back cap will unscrew by itself.

The solenoid block has been improved as well. The difference besides being red in color, is that the output hole between the plunger and the solenoid block is smaller. The new diameter is 0.6mm and this improvement will equalize the differences in solenoid flow. Additionally we reduced the flow through the block so that any inconsistency from solenoid to solenoid has more flow than the hole orifice allows. This may case the dwell to rise to 9ms but there is no adverse affect on rate of fire. From extensive high speed testing with the pressure set high, the bolt kit functions more smoothly due to the positive force changes. This improvement should also aid in preventing solenoid failures.

The new NT11 now boasts a lot wider range of user adjustability, smoother shot recoil and a quieter sound signature.

1. 14 inch two piece Ultralite barrel with .688 bore
2. Spool valve technology with
a. Boost forward feature for gentle touch on paint
b. Automatic valve shutoff for maximum efficiency
c. Integrated secondary solenoid spool
3. Low operating pressure of just 125psi
a. Lowered for 2011 for even softer feel and reduced noise
4. Eye pipe with integrated detents
5. Ultimate efficiency, 1500-1700 shots of 68/45
6. Player performance and shooting comfort
a. Added third bolt tip flow insert
b. Color coded volume inserts for easier use
7. Ultralite airport
8. Ultralite reach trigger
9. 2nd generation ultralite frame
10. LED control with 4 fire modes and 40 rof settings
11. Hyper3 regulator
12. Cam lock feed neck
13. Tool-less sticky grips for quick access
14. Contact pads for maximum comfort and grip

^^^ I'm confused as to why you chose to use the term "all new" when describing the 2011 nt. I would think the 2010 nt would be considered the "all new" one. Last year anyway. I hardly think enough has been changed with the 2011 to be considered "all new" not trying to flame you or anything I'm just curious

Edit: or maybe you were just being sarcastic lol

The blue tip is bigger than the red tip so shouldnt it be in recommended settings #2 instead of the red tip?

Seems like the blue one is being used for efficiency but the red one is the smallest of all?

Im very interested to see what they will actually put in the kit. Im sure the new green bolt tip insert, but will they include the new spacers, bolt, manifold, spool, and bolt stem piece? It will be costly, but thats how Id like them to do it.
