tourney tips and drills!!!

Look here dont make a whole new thread asking about drills or tourney tips

BE AGGRESSIVE- At the start of a game, tournament players sprint forward to take as much area away from their opponent as possible. Good tournament teams also return fire on enemy positions with as much force as possible. A recreational player can use aggressive play to their advantage as well. By rushing the other team and returning fire ferociously, you can shock them and restrict their ability to move around. That is the first step to beating them. Attack your opponent; don’t wait for them to attack.

Communicate
Good tournament players yell to each other constantly
They are always updating each other on the location of enemies and coordinating their fire and movements. Good tournament players never make one of their teammates move without giving them good cover fire on enemies that threaten that player. When recreational players encounter enemies they should communicate and coordinate their efforts as well, especially if you have already blown your cover. There’s no need to keep quiet then.

Return fire when you are on the move
Not only do tournament teams provide cover if one of their teammates are making a move, but the moving player also provides his own cover. Effective cover fire doesn’t necessarily hit anyone. It just keeps the enemy from firing on you while you are moving. Recreational players should shoot while they run. You should fire at the enemy position that is most dangerous to you. Make them keep their head down and their sights off of you. This will take some practice, but it is worth it.

Learn to shoot with either hand
Tournament players can fire out of either side of the bunker without having to take weird positions or make themselves larger targets. Rec-ball players should be able to do this as well. You should be able to peek out of either side of a bunker without showing more than your marker and part of your mask. It takes practice to be able to shoot with your off-hand, but it will keep you alive longer.

Protect yourself
Tournament players do not play in tank-tops or shorts. Their bodies are completely covered. Recreational players should do the same. There is no need to risk getting blood clots due to bruises that you could have prevented. A recreational player that is fully covered is also better concealed, which is one of the most important elements of any rec-ball strategy. Protection should not end with your mask – cover up.

DRILLS

Snap Shooting: You cannot, I repeat, cannot do this drill enough. This is one of the simplest, but most effective ways to become a crack shot. Think about it. If you can train your muscle memory to quickly and accurately shoot another person at any time, you are giving yourself a huge advantage.

How to practice: First, if you have another person to practice against, that is your best bet. Having paintballs come back at you will make you stay on your toes and react as if you were in a game. The point of this drill is to pick bunkers that mirror each other, player 1 then stands behind a bunker and player 2 stands behind the opposite bunker. Each player then begins the drill by quickly snapping out of the bunker, shooting a ball or two (no more) at there opposition. Try to visualize your target before you leave before you snap out, envision where they will be in your mind then roll out and shoot your gun. If you make this a drill at every practice it can make you the best snap shooter in the game

Running and Shooting: Running while shooting is becoming the standard for top rated players. If you can shoot accurately while running to your bunker, you probably will get there safely and could even take out an opponent at the same time.

How to practice: This is like a 1on 1 drill but with modified rules. Each player starts on opposite sides of the field. Then they start the 1on 1, the difference is each player can only stay behind a bunker for no more than 2 seconds. That way you are constantly moving while shooting at a moving target also. These small games should not last much longer than a minute. While shooting try to hold your marker steady and firm.

Insert Drill: This drill will teach you to not only use your gun to move but help you insert with proper timing. Moving in paintball is all about timing. I personally would rather play against fast guys than someone who picks the best time to move to a key spot (I can hit a fast guy, but can’t mark the guy that moves when he has me stuck behind my bunker). aUse this drill to help get better at moving smarter.

How to practice: This drill requires two people starting at mirrored bunkers. I like to use all three back bunkers. Each player will start at opposite sides i.e. two stand up can bunkers. There also needs to be a middle bunker that nobody occupies (this bunker is intended for each player to try to get to as fast as possible). What makes it hard is both players know the other is trying to get to that middle bunker. So you have to use a combination of gun fighting, running and shooting, and smart moving to either block out the other player or go when they don’t expect it. If you can learn to do this consistently in practice, it will be easier to do in a game.

hese drills above will get you well on your way to playing like a pro. Remember being effective during practice will eliminate years of mistakes that need to be corrected later on. These drills will give you the basics to start working these skills into scrimmages or tournaments. I hope this helps. Stay tuned to more advanced drills and team drill in a few weeks.

the way i get better at playing is by putting on a thong and a bikini top and dancing around to Flock of Seagulls while rubbing my nipples and massaging my ******* with a flaccid piece of cabbage.
