12g Launcher

So I've built several constant air launchers that have been very successful, but now I want to try my hand at a 12g launcher. First, i have a questions

Whats the pressure of a standard 12g

(if anybody has a good design please share it/them!)

P.S. I want to convert my PVC launcher to have a metal air chamber. Whats the best metal piping to use and where can i get it?

Thanks for your help!!!!

i make a good 12 gram panzerfaust. basically a 12 gram adapter,1/2 to 3/4 inch pipe adapter,3inch x 3/4 inch pipe nipple, 3/4 inch valve,3/4 inch x2 inch nipple, and a 2inch pvc bushing with a 3/4 in threaded hole.

the bushing will fit into a 2inch pipe for the barrel. check the weapons section of my forums for pics

i think the pressure of a co2 12 gram is simmilar to a reg co2 bottle. but since you put it into the pipe the pressure goes down alot. ive never heard of one bursting.

a small fire extigusher body makes a good air chamber. ive made an air chamber out of 2 inch black pipe but its very heavy.

I know this guy that had a LAW that had a PVC airchamber which he had a master plumber convert the air chamber to 2" copper pipe. He pressure tested it. Weight wise it's the same as the Schedule 40 pvc.

Most fire extinguisher are aluminum. My LAW uses an aluminum fire extinguisher as the air chamber.

There's not a whole lot of air in a 12g....
It will fill a balloon to about 7" diameter.

yes but those are manufactured to hold pressure. so its an easy way to go and safe. Still use a pop off valve though and a regulator on anything you make. exept 12 grams

Of course always use a regulator and Safety Popoff valve when dealing with HPA or CO2.
