humphrey noid/leaking manifold

Hey guys im trying to finish up a trade right now, a fellow forum guy sent me his NXT it had not been shot in years i lubed up all the o-rings on the bolt and everything and put air to the gun and there seems to be a leak from the right side (looking at the bottom of the gun with the grip frame removed) I replaced all the rings on the manifold but the leak was still there, i tried to fire the gun to see if the leak would go away, it fired once then short cycled and would not fire any more, i swapped the humphrey noid with a parker noid from my other gun and it shot perfect. I disassembled and cleaned/lubed the humphrey noid making sure not to lose any of the tiny o-rings but that didnt help, still leaks from around the manifold area on the right side and will not fire/fully cycle, any ideas?

Replace the bolt sail o-ring. As for it working with the Parker and not the Humphrey, the Parker usually runs at a lower dwell time. Try upping your dwell 2-3 ms with the Humphrey noid. Check out zdspb.com . Its the Shocker bible.

i went through zdspb that was my first stop, lol, as far as the sail ring i thought about that but i definatly think the issue in with in the noid it self, I have 2 shockers sitting infront of me right now, both work perfect with the parker noid, both leak and wont fire/cycle with the humphrey noid??

If it works and doesn't leak when ALL you change is the noid then it very well could be the noid.

If you know the size of the oring, you should be able to just buy some in that size.

I had a Humphrey noid that the pilot section went bad in and it caused a leak similar to what you're describing. It could also be a bad o-ring on the spool. Before you get into trying to pay out money to repair your noid you need to narrow the problem down even further. The simple thing to do would just be to replace the whole noid.

I am also curious if they make a rebuild kit for either noid. What happens if the orings on the spool pack need replaced or the one on the ends of the housing or the oval one on the manifold.

You can replace the manifold o-rings fairly easily. As for the ends of the housing I am assuming you're talking about the butterfly gasket. I don't know of any other place to get them except zdspb.com but I think he just has Parker noid parts. As for the o-rings on the spool, they are a different story. They are flat and very hard to change without damaging them. Most of the time they sell replacement spools that already have the o-rings on them.
