Any word on beta date?

Im guessing a month or two before release. But for some reason that doesnt seem soon enough. For a game of this size i hope its sooner.

There is only speculation at this point. I might say a little sooner than a month or two before release, that's certainly cutting it close if the beta team finds any sizable glitches.

I think most people are saying sometime in 2011, probably late in the year, but its just speculation.

this looks incredible....a HUGE step above the original GW (which i played for a while). i would drop WoW in a heartbeat to play this.

....if only it was mac compatible.

I hope they let me in on the beta. I have dropped 1100+ hours on the original and beat all games/expansions.

No, they said they would announce beta sign ups on the site and there is nothing about as far as I can see.

The OP has been updated with the rest of the info I've been meaning to get up there. If theres anything you think I should add (Besides Hall of Monuments) let me know.

Also, I'll be buying the original GW and the expansions tomorrow to start leveling a char and building my Hall of Monuments points for Guild Wars 2. Feel free to post up for IGN's if you still play the original GW.

Anet confirmed a profession release this month, latest date I have seen rumored is tomorrow, the 27th.
