A better PMR Techna trigger (adjustable activation point)

Ok, I know I can't be the only one who doesn't like the fact that the activation point on the stock and aftermarket PMR triggers have no adjustable activation point for the microswitch. So I put together a quick and really easy way to make this happen. It took me about 5-10 minutes once I gathered the tools I needed. For this you will need a drill, drill bit, tap (if you are using this mod on the proto aluminum trigger), a small 1/4"-3/8" long adjustment screw 3/16" dia., some sort of sandpaper or belt sander or dremel.

This is a picture of a stock techna pmr trigger along side a stock modded pmr trigger. As you all know the stock trigger and stock techna have the solid point that hits the microswitch to activate it. For me personally I like a little more adjustability with my triggers.

First you need to sand/dremel the part of the trigger that activates the microswitch flat so there is no lip left (as shown below).

Next, once you have sanded/dremel the back smooth take a drill bit (in my case I used a 3/16" bit because the adjustment screw I used was 3/16"). When doing this part drill from the back of the trigger through the front (it is much easier to get the center point on a flat area vs. the rounded front of the trigger blade). Make sure you screw through level and centered otherwise you might pop the drill bit out the side of the trigger blade and it will look goofy. The hole should look like the picture below.

Once you have your hole drilled you can choose to thread the plastic with a tap (I did not on the techna trigger but did on the stock). Either way the adjustment screw should turn in with some force but not much. If you adjustment screw is turning in really hard try the tap or the next larger size drill bit (you don't want to crack the plastic so be careful because the hole will be close to the edges of the trigger). Now you simply screw the adjustment screw into the hole (from the front of the back part of the trigger that you sanded earlier. Do not screw the adjustment screw through the blade of the trigger itself because you are only asking for trouble if you do). Now you have a trigger with an adjustable activation point!!

If you decide to do this mod I cannot accept any responsibility it you screw your brand new $40 trigger up. So use your head and if you can't do it then please lmk or bring it to someone who can do it correctly.

thanks! It gives me personally 3-4 more bps (from 14 to stock to 17-18bps modded in legal semi) being able to adjust the trig better. Not sure why they weren't like this in the first place?

Pretty raw idea !

If I was still using a stock frame I'd be busting out the dremel tonight.

no offence to maker of this mod or thread but this don't deserve a sticky. Great idea no doubt but not sticky worthy.

Talking

well maily cause if you check all other gun threads, mods are kept in just threads. So why would this be different? If this goes to sticky, then so should the painting eye covers cause that's technically a mod. Also my thread about a HIDDEN MODE that DYE/PROTO DENY'S isn't in there so mainly caue i'm mad. lol. sorry aimeagle. But yeah yu can ask why if you want. lol

I didn't do this for a sticky. I just figured as long as I was doing it I might as well show what I did. I really just thought there must be others that hated not being able to adjust the activation point as much as I did.

It's funny that you said that (in bold).
Because there is a How To Paint Your Proto Eye Covers in the DM/PM Ultimate Sticky v2.1 sticky.

Your wish is my command... it's stuck under MODifications.

btw... your hidden NXL mode thread is sort of in the sticky...
Well... it's in threads that are in the sticky. Guess you haven't found them yet.
