Wow, last nights mix-n-match was everything we thought it would be. This was our third time playing in it and everytime has been awesome. The brewcity staff promote the sport the way it should be, focus on fun and good sportsmanship. Thanks to all the teams and staff, we will be back next time. By the way, the Dye display case is crazy beautiful.

Looking to go to this field this Sunday and wanted to know what the turnout is normally. Will there be airball with experienced players? Just looking to find out what to expect. Thanks in advance.

you can usually count on the brewcity factory team having 2-3 lines runnning.

We were just there last sunday. We had 2 lines, they had 2 I believe, and there was another team there as well.. All experienced players

we (Hooligans) will be back out there again with two lines as well on 8/11

I left the game 12 years ago after playing for 9 years.. I am 44 y/o now. My son is now 14 and loves playing. We played at Brew city on a Sunday and the game has changed since I played. When I played the word "sponsored" meant you were covered for paint, gear, practice fees and tournaments (which you were required to attend when the sponsor told you). My son has been obsessed with getting "sponsored,"

While at Brew city a few weeks ago there was a kid (maybe 14-16) talking about being sponsored. He was too "to cool to talk to an old man like me", but asking around I find out that he is in fact sponsored... His sponsor pays for nothing except he gets to wear a Jersey with his sponsors name which he pays extra for. Has this become the definition of sponsored now? I have been telling my son to work hard and maybe someday he could try out for a sponsored team (which is how it was done when I played). Very few people were sponsored. At Brew city on that Sunday morning apparently most people were sponsored... Pretty impressive (I thought initially) until I heard this kid. Is this type of sponsorship the norm now?

Basically I would like to know what to tell my son about his dream of getting "sponsored" because that is the cool thing to do. IF sponsorship has dropped to this level then it means nothing except the sponsor is taking advantage of young players with dreams of playing pro someday.

I have come back to the sport to teach my son about the game and found some changes, but at the core it is still the same. I love paintball again and I am playing with my son which is awesome for me. Brew city is a great place to reenter the game. Eric (I hope that is the correct spelling, I know I saw it earlier) has been an awesome resource and has never taken advantage of either me or my son. I have taken the "I am new approach" because I am new again. Other than a few arrogant people which are everywhere we have enjoyed playing.

I don't play tournaments anymore but sponsorship really isn't what you think it would be. For the most part it means possibly being a ref on off days for free, discounts on paint and probably free admissible and air. You will get a discount on gear but its through your local field / retailer not directly from the gun company like DYE or PE. You really only get the better sponsorship when your at the pro level. This is what I have personally seen in the past from diferent places.
Also you notice that some kids are stuck on themselves for the very low grade of sponsorship that they have, but hey they're awesome because they are sponsored.

Yes. You got the basic idea of what it typically consists of. It varies, but your probably not going to come across anyone that is fully sponsored.

And yes, brew city and Eric are terriffic!

Unless its a pro player sponsorship consists of discounts for gear and paint. The days of everything handed to you free disappeared probably close to when you got out 9 years ago lol again unless you play for a pro team but even that I couldn't really tell you they may pay for stuff too

Planning ahead... I have some friends planning on coming up from Iowa the weekend of March 15-16. Hoping to bring them for some team practice that Sunday morning (the 16th). Is there anything going on that practice would be cancelled? We'd probably have some of the Competitive Edge guys with us too.
