Any idea that is floated, no matter how unlikely it is to become an eventual rule, will be reported as a rumor.

If someone heard that Lane jokingly added the idea of everyone having to wear big Micky Mouse 3 fingered gloves, it'd be a rumor on these websites.

Very true we have talked about me playing with our D-2 team an event or two. What I am saying is unlike most teams we have had the same core of 9 players from the first year till now. It would just not be fair to have to pick anyone on the team and say well sorry but you are F'd. Even if we draw straws ect it would be 100% BS.

I'm not sure what capping the rosters would accomplish, other than increasing the overall talent pool for the limited teams to pull from, thereby increasing the quality of the games.

I could kinda see 9 10 for sure but 8 players heck if someone gets hurt the first part of the match you could be in deep trouble fast. I am just thinking 8 is a bad bad number.

i hate to make comparisons with other professional sports, but this might be helpful in this case:

NBA active roster limit is 12. 5 play at any given time.
NHL active roster limit is 23. 6 play at any given time.
MLB active roster limit is 25. 9(10) play at any given time (DH).
NFL active roster limit is 53. 11 play at any given time, but offense and defense are completely separate with special teams sometimes borrowing from both.

In every instance, you are able to substitute an entire 2nd unit for your active players. For good reason, I'm sure. If the PSP were to have a upwards roster limit of 10 players, that doesn't force a poorer team to have all roster slots filled, and doesn't necessarily give the richer teams an advantage since only 5 men are on the field at any given time. (Especially with what Infamous pulled off in Phoenix.)

Physical exertion is a much bigger concern (many of those 25 MLB players are pitchers)

and

Injury is a much greater concern (all of those sports involve player-to-player contact

and

Seasons are much longer (80+ games a season, except football, where everyone would be a cripple with that many games)

Well, *IF* the rumor is true, it said for the Pro division, where it isn't the players paying. Lower roster sizes save team owners money.

I agree Greg, most established teams are a group of best friends that have been playing for a while. Our team has 10 guys, 2 practically equal squads and all of us have been playing together for quite sometime.

If its not fun for the players then why would the players play the game? We love playing the PSP events but one reson is we ALL get to play a core group of friends heck some of the kids on Vicious have been friends for like 15 or 16 years. Now I might have to tell one of them sorry you can't play with your friends anymore..... This does not seem like a good deal as 8 people on a team is not real smart to start with. 9 or 10 players min. I know some Pro or Semi-Pro ownerswant to cut some costs but heck just don't take 10 players if you don't want but don't EFF the ones that would like to have 9 or 10 players.

Heck what do I know I am just some dumb old guy.
