Taking the DAM as an example, you don't have to go all FS. You have the option to go hopper fed or mag fed in an instant. You can spray and pray with the loader or hang back and snipe with the FS rounds from the magazine - keeping you from blowin' a whole paycheck on FS rounds. It's wonderful flexibility. With the Dfender, you don't have that tactical flexibility yet you pay about the same price. I'm not doggin' the Dfender by any stretch of the imagination. I'm sure this bad boy is gonna fly off the shelves. I'm just sayin' that the price point is a bit off when you have a more tactically flexible choice out there for about the same price.

I think that's phosperous that reacts with water although magnesium does burn very hot and bright red.

what you're thinking of is alkali (lithium, potassium, etc) and water reactions. If you look at the periodic table of elements I believe its the left most column of elements that react violently with water. All the alkali metals react vigorously or explosively with cold water, producing an aqueous solution of the strongly basic alkali metal hydroxide and releasing hydrogen gas. I think these are the metals used on TV (Mythbusters, etc) for those high reactive explosions with water.
Alkaline metals apparently also react with water: All the alkaline earth metals except beryllium also react with water to form strongly alkaline hydroxides and thus should be handled with great care.. However, All the metals except beryllium form oxides in air at room temperature which dulls the surface of the metal. So not explosive?

Phosphorous is a nonmetal and is on the right side of the table. I don't think its reactive with water like the alkali metals are.

I agree with that, options are always good. At my local fields no one really uses the FS, fields are a bit small for the price premium. If I head out to a big game I have a feeling i'll be outsniped even with FS so for me personally it doesn't really matter. But I agree on the features and/or lack thereof, I can't really justify pulling the trigger on it for 1300, if I can get it used 800-1k, I'm so in. Used market here I come (as well as everyone else)

It could possibly qualify as a "box-mag" fed support, but probably not for your run of the mill games.

As someone who got to play around with pure magnesium and water in HS chemistry, I can confirm this.

Kinda wondering how this is high-end when it is using mid-end internals?
Shame they didn't use the Vanquish internals, would have killed the DAM.

I think the axe guts are the better choice. not as oring and weather picky as the luxe guts...and lets not forget, Axe Lurker Bolt bounce off paint in the breach amazingness.

I can see that. Good point. Axe being an inline poppet makes it more efficient than a spool as well as having the hopper integrated makes it much more streamlined.
You win.

Plus, the Axe internals are much shorter than the Vanquish/Luxe, so the loader can be that much closer to the breech.

The Defender could be future Axes. Bright colors for speed ball and camo for woodsball.
