Cool, thanks for the info. That link will be very helpful.
What is the deadline for the entry fees? Like a week before each event or the thursday before each event?
We're excited about the series and really looking forward to a fun season. I hate to sound like a suck up, but we really do appreciate all of your hard work in making this happen.

Don't know on the cutoff date but I was thinking a week prior to the event or the monday night before. It kinda gives the field a outlook on the attendance. One issue we will face this year is having one or two fields for each event. We can run one field with about 16-18 teams and get done on time. Any after that is hard to do. All the fields have the ability to run more than one field so that wont be the issue. It is just making sure the second field is ready and the field has the reffing staff to cover it.
I anticipate 15-25 teams at the events so Event #1 will have two fields set up and ready to play. thanks,
mark

"Spectator Participation
Beginning with the 2009 season, the CFOA will begin allowing spectator participation at all events. This not only adds energy to the game, but a high level of excitement for spectators who can now be a part of the game. Professional sports are played for the spectators. Without them, our sport will never achieve the attention it deserves."
This was taken from the cfoa. Is seps going to do the same? I hope not. I hate sideline coaching. Might as well play xball at that point.

I agree with you Sean. We haven't really discussed it yet, but I don't think we will allow it. I would never be able to pull off 3 on 1s with coaching.
Brent

Thank you! Thank you! I was about to get upset there for a moment. I seriously wouldn't have played if this was going to be allowed.
Will yall be posting up a sticky that specifically denotes which psp rules yall are modifying and spells out exactly what the change is so we can be prepared?
Another thing. If I understand correctly the cfoa will be adopting the psp 5 man braketting system. Is it safe to assume that yall aren't going to be doing that?
Brent- you know you're like a ghost/shadow out there. You could do it.

Brent/mark- one rule I would like to know about especially concerns games ending on penalties and the flag hang points. I don't know if this is a psp rule or just a cfoa rule and I don't remember the section #.
The jist of the rule is if both teams have been eliminated and one of those teams was eliminated due to a penalty then the team that was not penalised automatically gets the 15 points for the flag hang.
I know this is a quirky rule that probably won't come up a lot, but we were affected by it twice in the cfoa. It's kind of like the old 50 point swing mspa rule. Here's a couple of examples of how it happened to us.
Team 1 the Dirty Cheaters -we'll call them DC and team 2 ShockForce -we'll call them SF- are playing their final game of the semis. It's a 2 on 2. Player A from the DC team tries to bunker a player on the SF team. He is shot before he gets there, but plays on. The refs call a 1 for 1 on DC, but the refs do not move to physically pull out player B on DC. The 2 players on SF thinking all of the players on DC are eliminated go to get the flag and are shot by player B on DC. The refs ruled that both teams had been eliminated and the game was a draw. 50 points going to each team. Argument begins. How can an eliminated player shoot the other two players on SF? The refs say that until that player has been physically pulled by the refs that he is still considered a live player and thus his actions count. Holy loop hole, batman! SF missed the finals by 7 points. Obviously, if we had correctly recieved the 15 points for the flag hang we would've advanced to the finals.
Larry from the cfoa later apologized for the error and payed our entry to the next event. Props to him, but we still missed out on seed points and the potential of winning prizes that might have been worth more.
Second example that is far more likely to happen.
Team 1 the DC's and team 2 SF. It's a 2 on 1. The DC's shoot out the last player from SF. They hang the flag. When checked by the refs a player on DC is found to have been hit. A 1 for 1 penalty is called on the DC's resulting in both teams being eliminated. The refs try to call the 50 50 split again. Now knowing the rule I point out to the head ref that SF should be recieving the 15 points for the flag hang. After consulting the rules the head ref agrees and SF gets the 15 points. SF advances to the finals with only 5 points to spare.
I bring this up because as you can see from my examples -especially example 2- that this rule can have a major impact on an event. If it's going to be used by seps then all of the refs and the teams should be aware of it. I hope this is helpfull.

Those types of rules will be as in the rulebook. The only rules we will change are coaching, number of games, etc. Making almost no changes is the goal.

Also, D5 is not having a series and the only prizes for that division are medals. We are wanting this to be a division for true beginners. Realizing the PSP qualification is still too loose on D5, we would ask a team that we know doesn't qualify there to move up. This is not a perfect system, so we hope players will help us out in this.
Thanks,
Brent
