tourqe magnet mod

ok this is for people who has torques and the constant spinning is driving them crazy. and since i havent seen anything on how to do i figured i would make a thread on how to do it

Ok this is called the magnet mod.

first off you want to dissasemble your torque, all the way its easier to do with both sides off.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

then you want to take the drive cone and pull it out.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

next you want to separate the 2 pieces of the drive cone, they should just pull apart also, becareful not to loose the 2 tiny pins inside the upper half of the drive cone assembly when doing this. the way to do this is just to turn it upside down, the tope of the drive cone should be facing down.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

then you want to mark the magnets your going to flip, mark the top and the bottom, next you want to flip the magnets so when there is preassure on the stack it stops spinning completly. i used an allen wrench and pushed them out to get them. you will notice once you flip them they will have little dots on them, this is from where you marked them from the bottom. reffer to the previous photo and the one below.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

once youve done that your done, reassemble your torque and enjoy your torque without the constant noise.

This is the crazy glue mod, courtesy of Karma Police 12

just take your tourqe apart, then separate the drive cone assembly, then take crazy glue and then glue the top and bottom of the drive cone assembly together let it sit and your done, enjoy your none noisy tourqe

To add a little more info to this mod, I found that if you mark and flip every other magnet (on the lower paddle) it gives just about the right pressure on the ball stack.

it does nothing for the motor though. the motor is going to be trying to turn anyways, just putting intense pressure on the stack, not to mention undue stress on the motor. i say this mod is shizz...

Excuse me for bringing this thread back from the dead, but I have a couple questions:

1. How exactly does one take apart the drive assembly? When I attempt to unscrew the screw all it does is make the motor shaft turn.

2. The top part of my assembly (wheel) moves independently from the shaft, meaning when I turn the hopper on and hold the wheel in place the shaft will continue to spin. Should that be happening? I'm thinking no, because if I understand this thread correctly, making the wheel stationary should stop the shaft from rotating.

EDIT: Disregard that. I figured it all out.

1. The screw doesn't connect to the shaft. It simply holds the drive assembly together, meaning the assembly can pulled off the shaft and then unscrewed.

2. There are actually 3 main sections to the assembly, not 2 as I originally thought. The top section is supposed to spin freely.
