Anyone know why so many top pro teams walked away from the NPPL for 2013

Event date conflicts and sponsorship conflicts are the two leading cases.

I don't think anyone representing any of the teams will openly say that it's a sponsorship issue, but it's a sponsorship issue.

HB is a location of one tourney of one league

HB is just short for the "Huntington Beach NPPL Event."

It is the first event of the NPPL season and traditionally the most popular NPPL event of the year.

That part I understand.

What I don't understand, or maybe am not informed about is why HB is mentioned in the midst of this list: Millenium, PSP, and NPPL.
Was HB at one point in time a source of conflict of schedule for those leagues?

That list makes no sense. The HB NPPL wasn't ever a conflict. The Denver NPPL and a PSP event are scheduled to be on the same weekend this year though.

Because sponsorships .believe it was empire pulled mos told their teams and pay for them to play psp because that's what they support

Ok so here goes ill try this...HB is april 12/13/14 Millenium serries also has an event april 12/13/14 alor of pro players from the states are playing this event. Also psp nppl conflict in august....sorry thought everyone would get this.

When a team plays millenium for the world exposure for its sponsors, then yes, I quess you can blame the sponsors. Better than blaming the league for its mismanagement. Why not just let anyone in. For the established players and teams moving up, I aplaud it.For the rest, if you want to prove yourself, why not do it in d1/semi pro first? If you do not think that the league letting teams with unknown or unproven rosters in had no bearing on some of the pro teams leaving. Then you are fooling yourself. It was not an either or decision because of the sponsors, those othrr factors had a bearing in it also.

Aren't the nppl and psp supposed to be becoming one league? If so maybe that's why so many sponsors left for psp already and the teams are following since that's where they will end up anyway

This was in the works several years ago, but merger talks fell apart. Haven't heard much about it since then and most people doubt it will happen now that one league seems to be moving well ahead of the other.

merger talks were in the works a while ago, but that didn't work out at all and now PSP says "DIE NPPL DDIIEEEE!!!" lol

Hence all major sponsors supporting only PSP and telling their teams they will only be playing in PSP.
