I respect those of you that are young guns and actually have paid for all of your own gear. You worked hard and deserve to have nice things. But that being said, this thread is so full of **** that it is going to explode. With almost 10 years in the sport, I have an idea of what the true ratios in the sport are as well as what "I pay for all of my own gear" actually means. People seem to be very defensive.

-I have skimmed the thread for a good 5-6 pages and 98% of people "paid for it all". The young gun that pays for his own gear is a true token baller.....yet here it is just the opposite.

-If you get $1,000 various birthday cash, $1,000 Christmas cash, a hundred dollars a week allowance, and your parents pay you what would average out to $20 an hour for bull**** house work; you are not paying for your own gear.

I did not pay for my own gear, at the begining of my PB career my parents got me a ION XE, a random Mask, a Empire Reloader, and an carletton bottle with air america reg, one of the first bottles to be 4.5k psi air.

Through the years I sold my stuff and started to upgrade, I went to a DP G3 Spec R selling my ION for parts as it broke and a litle savings I had, From that I was able to buy some stuff also from a friend who quited the sport sadly and sold them afterwards to get some cash and keep up, I stayed with hes crossfire tank that he never really used, made some proffit out of hes g4 and some other things.

I also started buying gear and guns over in PB nation and bringing them over to Panama and selling them here, I then moved to an a5 fly after I sold my G3 Spec-r didn't like it at all.

Now finally, I can say that with the investment my parents first did, and earning money here and there, I was able to be where I am.

I'm proud to say that thanks to my parents, I was able to get a nice gun to this date, even though I don't have what they bought me first, with that stuff I was able to get better and better. Thanks mom and dad, I love you guys.

Well because when i posted in this thread, i had four guns: a red g6r, a black g6r, an axe, and a geo 2. I take this comment of yours applys to me.
[No im not hating on you, just stating] My parents paid for none of my gear. im 16, i just simply have a job, and ran a small business for the summer that went really well, and decided to buy nice gear.

No i didnt use any "gift cash" lol

I did not pay for all my gear, but instead I traded and traded and traded until I got everything I needed. Everything I have was all a result of an initial xbox360 trade that developed into more and more trades.

Nothing was directed at you...its just that every page of 20 posts contains 15 posts from someone saying that they bought all their own gear. We have no way of knowing who is lying and who is not. All we know for sure is that everyone is paranoid/defensive and that quite a few people are lying.

Well all I have to say is it shouldn't matter if someone paid for their own gear or someone else did wether or not they did house work or mowed lawns at 20 bucks a pop. The point is that if he has that gear, he has that gear. There's no need to question him. Because this is the Internet. So no one has any reason to lie to look hard over the internet, and for everyone to be content with what you have. My grandpa makes a lot of money so therefore I have a lot of paintball money and buy a lot of ridiculous things. But I also spend STUPID money on my team and people who need the money to play ill buy them paint and lend out my equipment give rides lend money or whatever someone needs. I'd give the shirt off my back for someone else on my team because, I love paintball, they love paintball, and I want everyone to have as good of an experience as I'm having. The reason I say that is because when I talk about my stuff on here sometimes people call bs but there's no need for that I'll send pics of any of the things I listed. But if someone was lying about their crap let them be. Because when they get on pbnation they will still own what they actually own anyway.
