I think even Bruce would agree that tournament experience can help a team prepare for a tournament. The reason the Breakout teams did so poorly however came down to fundamentals. Fundamentals that are easier to fix while breaking down play during a traditional practice.
With that said, he doesn't need to defend his practice schedule to any of you. Especially those of you with financial gain to be had.
Since were on the subject and were in the tuf thread I'll go ahead and give my opions too. Since were all just saying stuff that doesn't really matter anyway.
NCXL is a joke and no team will get better competing in it. You have way too much to fix before coming into any thread and trying to tell a team they should play your tournaments instead of practice. PBC 3mans are run more professional and go smoother than your ****show. It blows my mind how much you're slacking and messing up something with so much potential. Maybe the problem is you don't care and don't want to put any more effort into it. Be honest with yourself and see if you can argue. No one here can give a truthful response saying anything other than the last event was a joke from beginning to end.
Fix your events and maybe coaches like Bruce would be more inclined to put teams into it.
This argument is old ombres. I've already acknowledged that I have things to work on and I'm on it. Remember, last event was only my second event that I've ever run and I started the thing from scratch. Have you seen the fields that I'm hosting the next two events at? Have you seen that Valken has decided to offer discounted paint at the events? Those should be indicators that things are improving.

It's not an old argument until there are improvements. I heard the first event was much better. Somewhere in between there was a bunch of slacking off.
As an organizer, you need to be more professional AT the event as well. The hosting fields have nothing to do with how great the series can be. This last event's field was very nice. Only complaint anyone can have about it was the compressor going down (or whatever the issue was). And I don't think anyone can give fault to anyone for that. *edit- there were spots where the netting could have been better.
Valken offering discounted paint prices doesn't say anything. It's nice and I personally like some of their paint, but it doesn't give any legitimacy to the series.
Don't use the "we just started" thing as an excuse. Fix your ****. If you've taken an honest look at your event you know what needs to be fixed (and it's more than what you've apologized for). One aspect was even praised by a few and anyone who was there know it was anything but praise worthy.
My original post was supposed to be directed more at why Breakout should spend the money to practice instead of attending the next NCXL. I'm not hating on NCXL. It has a LOT of potential and I see it being something I'd be very interested in. Don't bull**** it and it will be a great series for players to enjoy.

To be fair, it doesn't seem so much like negative arguing as much as healthy discussion in here. I don't think anyone's feelings are really getting hurt, and it's stuff that would probably be said behind peoples' backs anyway, so why not just get it out in the open. We're all friends still, I think.

The Icon of this TUF thread has spoken. So let it be written, so let it be done.

I think some honest feedback is always good. You just can't say it in a way that's going to make people get defensive. If that happens then they stop listening the moment they get offended. Not to beat a dead and rotting horse, but the CFOA started dying when there became a disconnect between the players and the management. CFOA stopped listening to the players and their needs / limitations.
I gave Szep feedback after the first NCXL and I hope he took it into account. I agree that it's a great idea and I had more fun at that first NCXL event than most other tournaments I've played... but it doesn't mean everything went perfect and that there aren't improvements to be made.
