So if they grouped three divisions together, all of which are charged three different entry prices, and then force them into one division in the end... how uh, does that make any legal, or ethical sense ?

I assume they will be split up again for finals. They are only grouped together for prelims |

I noticed cen-cal alliance is on the team list as a d4 5-man but nowhere on the schedule. Hope they did not pay.

The issue isnt an experience one, it comes from teams not being notified about it prior to that. It's not rookie, novice, amateur anymore, and coming out with a schedule, and saying surprise you paid more than another team for the exact same experience without a legitimate sound reasoning seems troubling.
