As I mentioned before i wanted to make a video of my threshold but not only I wanted to show that it works with the G3 HE bolt with a simple mod but i also made a comparison to a regular techt bolt and the Tail mod bolt.

First my settings through the whole vid.

Dwell- 10
HPR- 105psi - yes that's right, it's that low!
ABS- 6
Bolt Delay- 13



TechT: 104, 144, 149, 129, 163
TechT Tail mod: 272, 258, 263, 267, 267
TechT G3 HE bolt: 258, 258, 264, 267, 260

Im not trying to make excuses for the G3 HE bolt but earlier that morning i was shooting 280-290. before i made this video I removed most of the lube because there were lots of lint on the front orings. also note that the orings on this bolt are not broken in and it's still new. I shot about 1/2 a case already with the HE bolt before i made the video.

Now you ask how did i make the G3 HE bolt work with the threshold, very simple.

here is what you need:
urethane washer- size 1/2
320 grit sand paper
Strongest Epoxy you cand find!
dremmel with cutter (looks like a drill bit) or if available, a power drill with a hole saw 11.5mm
drill bit 1/16

Here are the simple steps:
Buy a Pipe urethane rubber washer from ace hardware (1/2). just show them this picture if you have a smart phone and they should be able to find it for you. look at the last picture below to see how thick it is.


then what you need to do next is to make the inner hole diameter bigger. it took me the 2nd time to get this right so i suggest you buy about 5 of them just in case you make a mistake. if you are going to use a dremmel like i did, be sure that you go really slow and keep checking that you have a perfect circle. the inner diameter of the rubber washer should be between 3/8 to 7/16 or 11.5mm in metric. if you can find a 11.5 hole saw then you just made it easier for yourself to do this mod. but if you're just gonna use a dremmel and self gauge, one way to tell is that your rubber washer inner diameter CAN NOT be smaller than the bolt stop upper edge surface. this is the area were the bolt flange with the bolt stop face. you can see it on the next picture.


then you're going to use a drill size 1/16 and drill the washer. DO NOT drill all the way through. you can drill it like north, south east and west. then you need to sand it on the drilled side with sand paper (320 grit) to roughen the surface and that's it. you would take off the orings on the bolt stop and also sand the it just to roughen the surface. then clean both the washer and the bolt stop and let it air dry for as long as it take but make sure that its clean and dry before you start doing the next step.
you are going to use an Epoxy (try to find the strongest one) the one i use is from ace hardware named Devcon 5 minute Epoxy (so far after half a case it held up). mix your epoxy very thoroughly and let it sit for about 20 seconds before you apply it on. put a really thin coat on the bolt stop surface and the drilled side of the rubber washer. if you put this together, the epoxy will not ooze out, that's how thin you needed it to be. but just in case you put too much, you need to clean this off right away. after you mate it togerther and cleaned off the excess epoxy, look if the washer inner diamter is center and perfectly lined all the way around. then let it sit for 24 hours and you should be good to go.


Notice how thick the washer is, you may have to sand the face after its been cured to make sure the bolt is not too far forward when the bolt is at rest and aired inside the breech.

Very nice. Great job on the write up too . I still have to do the tail mod on my extra TechT Rev-i/Threshy bolt head and get some confirmation results up.

Oh, was that a Disruptive barrel I see? Running at an operating pressure of 105psi, I assume you are underboring a bunch.

i used .682 disruptive barrel because the paint were just rolling out bad on eigenbarrel .684. this one rolls out but not as bad. to be honest there were not much change on FPS when i switched the barrel.

Good info. This means that it may be possible to run sub-100psi OP with a good underbore. I likely a lot . Gotta get my act together now and get this tail mod done.

Yes, its that awesome! and 120 psi with the G3 HE bolt. i knowit's not showing on the video. but a assure you that the G3 HE bolt has more gain than the tail mod.

100psi is mac dev territory. I have a threshy on me right now with the techt bolt. Its inconsistent as hell though, thats why i have it.. trying to figure that out. might tail mod it and shoot lazers.

the paint were shooting today were really ****ty. a guy with a pump was using a .689 and he's still breaking paint. i sometimes today was randomly breaking paint and so as many kids around me. i swear everyone's squeegy was working like a busy whore today.

what's the dwell with macdev? i know my demon shoots at dwell 10.

clones run at 12ms but i think its only that high to prevent bolt stick. the GT doesnt lose efficiency from more dwell so its not a big deal. with the spring mod they run 8-10ms but the efficiency gain (from what i hear) is not really that much, but the gun still shoots really awesome without needing more hpr.

the luxe runs higher than 100psi too, thats the cool part. i mean, pressure isnt everything but the stock threshy ran damn near 200psi..

the revi can use this mod in the same way im sure.
