if you want to play without he APPA involved that would be stupid. i am now ranked D-2, if i show no record of playing a event in the 2011 season i would be bumped down to d-3 again in 2012 thus letting me go down a division, keep it d-2 points, thats how it has always been, dont know why this is such a big deal, if you want to play the OPEN division then the cool, might see you on the field, if not play D-3 and you dont have to worry about your rank. plus it is only the beginning of december, season just ended, got a long time till tourney season is here

If you're saying what I think you're saying, that's NEVER bee true. Taking one season off does not automatically drop you back down a class.

Points DO get to be worth less over time, and we'll probably be accelerating the rate at which they decline in value starting with the 2011 season (so people who don't play or whose performance goes down will see their class go down sooner and further than before), but just not playing for one season probably won't, by itself, drop you a class, unless some of the events putting you up a class are more than a season old.


I guess another way to put it is that the system is specifically designed so that whether your class goes down or not is not affected by whether you play or not. Skipping a season won't lower your class any faster than playing a season will.

APPA works. Bottom line. The playing field is leveled for the most part, keeping more experienced players from beating up on less experienced players, thus drawing less experienced players into the tournament scene.

Who will, with the right dedication, eventually be one of the more experienced players.

People who are against it are clearly against a fair playing field.
