spend the money on ammo so you can practice shooting with irons. You will have better accuracy than you would using the scope.

leupold VX-R. It's a little over your price range but it's the best cheap scope out there in my opinion.

honeslty though i'd just go aimpoint or eotech and get a multiplier when you can afford it

I don't want a full time zoom cause its really pointless until about 100yds but for longer range and hunting I would like a zoom out to about 400yds. For home and range just a basic red dot with no zoom

I totally get why aimpoints are so popular. They're extremely light weight, and the battery last a lifetime. But, much like a lot of people I really like the bigger sight picture the eotech provides and i love the reticle. As a recreational shooter the weight and battery life isn't a huge concern for me. If i was in a war zone or some other situation where gear failure could mean my life then i would probably take the aimpoint.
