Browns are going to draft 2 qbs this year anyway. You don't need another one, 5 on one roster is too many.

if they do not draft defense first round i will ****. outside QB the only offensive positions i am interested in early are guard and TE. i also think there is a good chance we move for alex smith or kruger...or both (i think kruger is restricted though) in FA. could easily sign both and still have room for new rookies, especially with cribbs probably being gone and most likely chris gocong probably going away as well.

i would be content with smith for a few years but people do not think he fits with the norv turner offense. he has a much better over 20yrd pass completion percentage than weeden so **** it, ill take him.

id say he has a better chance of going to cleveland or KC over AZ. i don't think anyone wants to go to AZ right now that offense is a disaster + fitz

I think you would have a tough time finding a QB who wouldn't want to throw the ball to Larry Fitz.

yea but you would be hard pressed to find a QB that wants to play behind zero line and have no other real weapons to deal with...

especially a guy who has been around for a while when there are many teams much better equipped out there.

besides, SF is going to do anything possible to make sure he does not land in AZ. i don't think he will want to play in the same division as his old team and seattle, either

There's enough of a market for him that he wont last long enough to be released. Cleveland, KC, Arizona, and Buffalo will all try for him.

I think he ends up in KC. Andy Reid has a huge boner for him.

@MaioccoCSN
49ers figure to be a team that'll investigate possible acquisition of disgruntled Vikings star Percy Harvin. http://bit.ly/XD4t8U

There was an interview on local radio here with Reid a week or so ago. He clarified that he was interested in Smith back when he was in the draft and that the headlines floating around were a misunderstanding. It didn't sound like he had much interest now

like it or not he is the best available QB by quite a huge margin unless someone is dumb enough to bite on Vick (who looks like he is going no where). KC with a capable QB and a good coach could go from pig **** this year to a legit wildcard contender, especially in the joke *** west. He is certainly better than anything KC has and i would be much more comfortable with him than any of the scum coming out in the draft.

Didn't KC have the highest pay roll in the league last season? money does not buy wins in the NFL, apparently

Yea, Smith is the best QB available this year....which is sad for those who were hoping to land something worth while. However, in the right situation, he could do some work.

teams are picking him up as a stop gap until they can get a solid guy in the draft. as far as guys like that go he is pretty damn good. i mean, would you rather have him for a few years and draft one of they QB's next year and develop him for a season or 2 or start brady quinn, matt castle, skelton, colt mccoy, or brandon weeden for a few more years?

pretty no brainer, especially if you have cap space (****ing browns). that would be a night and day improvement in that position, unless somehow norv teaches weeden how to play and invents a time machine to make him 5 years younger.

Smith is a serviceable qb with good coaching. Cassel was the same back when he was on the Pats and when the Chiefs had Charlie Wies. I'd much rather gamble on a qb in the draft than take Alex Smith. His ceiling isn't much higher than Cassel's.

i would say his ceiling is quite a bit higher considering his performance the last 2 years is something cassel can only dream of. he is also more than "serviceable." serviceable guys do not set franchise records or have the 3rd highest QBR in the league. he is a good QB, he is nothing spectacular but he is more than a serviceable guy

and have you looked at this draft? its a bunch of turds. if you are comfortable with taking barkley be my guess. i will pass on that golden haired QT pie. besides, the class next year and the year after that is already looking to be MUCH better

Alex Smith is a lot better than Matt Cassel.

I wonder what Seattles gonna do with Flynn?

3116 yards 27 TDs 7 int
3144 yards 17 TDs 5 int

One is Cassel from 2010, the other is Smith from 2011

I'm well aware of this year's draft class. I'll have to wait for the combine results before I can really get excited at this point. So far, I'd go for Geno at #1 assuming the Chiefs re-sign Brandon Albert so we don't need Luke joeckel or however it's spelled.

Trade him for some nobody that will transform into a probowler or a late round draft pick which will be used on a ROY candidate.
