Finally joining the AKA family.
Okay, after a couple of years of coveting AKA markers but being hamstrung by rarity in the UK, fear of sending to the US for teching and a fetish for cockers, I finally took the plunge when this beastie came up at a price I couldn't refuse.
It's a Tadao'd Dark Viking, almost perfect with just a few rubs and tiny dings, and shoots so fast 'I can't believe it's not bounce'
I've added a Stiffi, CP direct mount on/off and cut Reloader B and will be taking it out for an inaugural blatt in a month or so at our next tourney. Very exciting, and nice to be in possibly the most grownup forum on PBN

The only thing you're going to hate is that you wished you have bought one sooner after the first tourney you play with it.
Cheers and welcome aboard!

Thanks for the welcome
Okay- the feedneck is clamp forward because when I look down the gun I like to see as smooth a profile as possible; I'm just weird that way.
And the cost, I'll tell you as most of you are in the US and thus unlikely to come over and throttle me. With an LPR test kit, case, spare WAS board, eyes, microswitch and battery harness, AKA oil, about three guns' worth of o-rings, screws, detents, etc etc and the Javelin barrel....... $370. I love this sport- anything old is automatically cheaper, esp over here where word hasn't really got out about Vikings
BTW- what is the feeling re the Javelin? I've not tried it but that muzzle thingy looks like a paint trap, so how do those that use them get on?

The javelin barrel is a good but not great barrel. I would pick up an aftermarket barrel if I were you. You should be able to afford one considering what you didn't pay for your marker........
The muzzle break on the javelin traps a little paint in the grooves. It can be easily cleaned on the field with an oversized squeegie. You really won't be breaking much paint with that marker. I haven't used my squeegie in over a month.

I know I was lucky- there's a couple on the p8 boards at the moment going for more like $550-650 but I bought this one from a very nice man who is quitting to go and be a grownup so was selling his kit off cheap.
I find the Stiffi works very well and is light to boot, but also have a huge pile of old cocker barrels so will be experimenting to find the best as far as sound, weight and shootiness are concerned.
And McGuyver and indeed any AKA types finding themselves in London for the Campaign Cup this year please come and find me, prob at the DYE tent doing osteopathy for the players etc, but that's TBC.

370? No wonder I felt a great disturbance in the force. As if, somwhere, across the pond, someone was getting a better deal on a viking than I was, and it irritated me. I now hand over my crown of "king of the viking deals" to you. damn. Nice find.

Keep the crown mate- I just got lucky and found a chap who even though he knew what he had was happy to sell it comparatively cheaply. I might wear the crown of smugness for a bit though- handed it to my brother the other night and his first words were 'Is that legal?'. Sure is fast

Dethrown pwned.
Debounce1 on vikes is fun. I scared the crap of everyone at the feild years ago, a demonstration at the target range can make a beliver out of the most ignorant people.
