Paintball Scene in TN
Hey guys,
I will be moving to the Nashville area soon, and I was wondering what the Paintball scene in TN is like? Are there any big scenario games, or Mag Fed teams?

don't really know much amount the big scenarios or mag fed teams..i know bearclaw is out here, thats where the majority of scenarios are in the area...
Their are pretty much 3 fields in the Nashville Areas.
-Middle Tennessee Paintball (MTP) has 3 woodsball fields (small, med, and large woods), a hyperball, and an airball field. We also sport a D4 and D5 MiLP team. My home field, great people, owner is awesome, friendly staff
-Red Leg is up in Clarksville, they have a woodsfield or two, and two airball fields, and sport some good MiLP teams. Really good teams and People, and the owner is great!
-Nashville Paintball (NPI) is in Nashville, and has an airball, hyperball, and cars field? don't really go there much so i cant say much about then.

Is Xtreme still open? Never hear anyone talk about them anymore.
Bear Claw is the primo place for scenarios from what i've heard. They're about an hour or so south of Nashville. I don't think they're open every weekend, but they host scenarios quite often. Keep tabs on their website.
Red Leg had 1 woodsball field the one time i was there. The flood really hurt them. It's been at least a year, so i think they've rebuilt another field. The owner is a nice guy, we chatted with him for a bit that day. It was nice to hear Valken was hooking them up with new bunkers.
MTP is mostly woodsball. They have big games at least twice a year that are scenario-ish (Winter Thaw in the spring & Fall Brawl in the fall). Good turn-outs. Played there the most this year. Look for me in a TMNT tshirt or jersey. Although i'll probably dust off the aloha shirts for summer.
NPI is the closest to Nashville. No scenarios or woodsball, so everything has a speedball feel. They've got a couple hyperball fields, car field, & their newest field has some concrete bunkers & a 2-story building (with a no-shooting-on-stairs rule, which is a nice policy).
I've played at MTP the most, but i'd really like to divide my time equally among the fields. They all have their highlights.

Definitely need to check out Bear Claw Paintball in Fayetteville, TN if you are into the scenario market. They host scenarios every other month almost. The events are run very well and the owners are great people.

Pretty sure xtreme is still open in Lebanon tn, but they're more "new player" orientated. They have 3 speedball fields but they're "Warzone" "tires" and "urban assult" instead of airball.
Yes, Bearclaw paintball in Fayetteville has large scenarios about every other month. Those are a blast.

Anyone ever play at Cross Eyed Paintball or Insane Paintball?
Looking for a good field in the Chattanooga/Knoxville area with decent prices and competition.

We have played Insane the better part of this 2014 year. They are still in paintball as well as airsoft. They did do away with the speedball bunkers and field a little while back, but a few of us are hoping to get them to bring it back by supporting the field. That said, we've been very supportive of Insane this year, and look forward to giving more this year. Their urban and woodsball fields are good for us. In all fairness though, I haven't personally played any other fields, but I almost always have challenging games and great peeps and refs to play and hang with at Insane. The club gets and A and the refs and peeps an A+ in my book.

Insane still has a decent paintball operation, but all the indoor fields have switched to Airsoft.
They do still have a very good outdoor fort/urban field, and have made a lot of improvements to their small wooded/bunker field next to it. Not a lot of tournament players show up anymore, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there's still a decent walk-on scene and a lot of rental/beginner groups. They still carry a lot of paintball gear in their pro-shop, though again, half of that is dedicated to Airsoft now.
Unfortunately, their outdoor airball field has been down for a while and has sat vacant for some time. Supposedly they're trying to figure out what to do with it.

Ha or nah?
if we are mostly woodsball, then why do we have a airball field and a hyperball field that we play lots of our games on as well? Sorry we are a field that actually has business? If you knew something about running a field, you would know that the tournament players arnt where the money is, its the rec ballers, and recballers wanna play in the woods, half of them could care less about airball.
The woods and hyperball and airball fields are used by the customers. Axis is also out of MTP as well. (and for a place that is "mostly woodsball," the team that came out of there whooped on some OG this season if i remember right )

Mhmm, maybe because we have people quit every year? That's probably why we have to rebuild every year lol. It sucks.
And you know you like those. best $10 I ever spent

I just recently moved to TN and was wondering, are there any decent fields close to Cookeville, TN? The only two I've been able to find that are relatively close are Xtreme Paintball and Nashville Paintball.
I do have my own gun BTW.

Does anyone go to NPI? MTP, Redleg & Skyline are all around 2 hours away so those may be out of the question - that's just too long of a drive. However NPI and Extreme are around an hour away so that'd be a lot better.
