Before I jump out of the plane Saturday, I'm looking into the Hand-cam and saying a Plittism...then doing a front flip out.

Posted this in the "what you did at the gym" thread too:
To anyone who deadlifts-
When I DL I drag the bar up my shins and it tends to take out chunks of my skin on the way up. I've tried to remedy this on by wear long socks, in addition to wearing sweatpants, but this has only resulted in ripped pants, and cuts right at my knees.
Any suggestions? or is my form completely ****ed?

You shouldn't be scraping the bb against your shins. Quads, maybe a little, but not shins.

You are looking at the diagram anatomically, instead of geometrically; which is how the exercise was generally designed and is shown. Everyone has different body types, but in general, scraping your shins should be avoidable.

does your bar not have areas off-center without knurling? I've never seen a bar without spaces in the knurling, which is about where you should be putting your shins when you deadlift.
you can try baby powder to reduce the friction. Lots of PL's do that.

Matt ogus uses shun guards. Maybe use those under pants. My long socks and pants work fine but there are also dead lifting socks you can buy.

I think it mainly depends on how low you squat during setup. Berkhan for example, has a pretty high setup, so I doubt his shins get scraped.
