Yes, in all of my USB drives. I open up My Computer and nothing pops up. I get the tone that something is plugged in, but that is all.

Step 1: Connect your iPod and launch iTunes. In the iPod management screen, scroll down to Options and check "Enable disk use."

If you open the start menu and type in UAC -- click Change user account control settings. What is it set to?

I signed up for cable today so I can watch Workaholics. And Game of Thrones. And Breaking Bad. And so I can get caught up with Dexter. I got Charter's "SILVER" package, so I get HBO and Showtime too.

So a bunch of HD channels, a HD box, HBO and Showtime, and On Demand ****. Oh I also need to get caught up on Eastbound and Down, although I will miss smoking weed while watching it.

There is no Enable disk use. I've checked in every tab in preferences.

For the user account control settings, it is set to the notch beneath always notify.

If there's no enable disk use then how did you originally check it? You said it was easy, so now I'm confused. I don't use Apple products so you have to be my eyes and ears champ. Did the iPod used to show up and now it's not?

Open iTunes, went to edit > preference (which I guess is their fancy name for settings, hipster bastards). Went to advanced all that ****, no enable disk use.

This is a new laptop. It would always show up on my desktop back at home with Vista. It has not shown up at all on this laptop.

It's an extra level of security introduced in Vista. It's gotten worse and worse with 7 and 8. You don't have to leave it off, it's just to test.
