Flush cocking question

Is the cocking rod supposed to remain completely still while firing? When I shoot my EVO it come back with some force but you can hold it down with your thumb.

Both of my flush cocking set ups do the same thing...Id say its normal.

plushdragon helped look for balloons
the flush cocking system will come out the back a little but if it the full lenth of the system then the bolt and or rails of the flush cocking are binding.

Can a saw a section of the cocking rod off and glue it back together so it doesn't stick out that much,

no. marker wont recock properly. but you can cut a large portion of the back of the top tube off and not have any cocking rod. like so....
