Played With Geo Plus Today...

So a friend loaned me his Geo Plus to play with all day today as the Viking's broke and...

I miss my Viking.

Yeah, the Geo only had 2-2 1/2 cases through it and was basically brand new so it isn't broke in yet (I shot about a case through it today) and yeah, it weighs about half what the Viking weighs, but it had WAY more recoil than I am used to. I didn't expect a spooler to have that much recoil and it is way more recoil than my RT'd Viking, and the Geo just got back from a PE tech.

Just sayin.

Anyone have an '04 Vik hammer cartridge laying around collecting dust? I miss my Viking...

Hammer shaft broke- the thing the bolt pin goes in separated from the shaft. Jared just had a baby and AKA doesn't have any...

The geo kicks until u set things right most people have a open vvc which makes it kick... But compared to a reliable Viking... It is not in the same bracket

Tuned up a geo for my friend jesse and that thing had very little kick. vvc was 3/4 way out. Kinda made me want one.

So what did you wind up setting that vvc at, or what is the proper setting? I'd like to help my buddy out- that thing kicked like a mule headed downhill!

Keep in mind that you'll feel less kick with the Viking because its a lot heavier than the Geo. Its the same reason the DM3s have no kick. Mostly because of the weight. Granted they are still the smoothest guns I own.

Yeah, I understand the weight thing, but it was way more than I expected- to the point of needing to concentrate on the gun to shoot anything. No Ego or Borg I have shot had that much kick or was so far deviated from the Viking, with similar weight numbers, and they're obviously poppets.

I've found that all planet eclipse guns have quite a bit of kick out of the box. I'm not sure why they tune them the way they do but they could all use a fine tuning of the LPR. I suspect their kick has something to do with marketing to younger kids who see bounce as a sign of power.

There not so bad price wise, I picked mine up with the latest engine it for $600. Although, I did luck out some, just saying deals are out there, and they are only going to get cheaper after cup.

I REALLY enjoy the marker, cant imagine asking for anything more in any performance aspect of a marker. And the ergonomics suit me to a T, so, I feel that Ill be hanging on to it for a while.

That said, I have never had a bad experience with any Geo I have used, or any PE marker for that matter. I played for a PE team for a few years, and shot probably 10+ egos and a few geos in that time. All of them were fantastic. I dont know that I ever broke a single ball in ANY of my PE markers, none have been bad about recoil either. Then again, I tend to like my markers to have more "recoil" than the average player. I tend to set my lpr's higher than stock for most of my spool valve markers, just to get some feedback from the marker when firing. So maybe my opinion is an outlier.

I really appreciate your opinion! That's the kind of stuff I am looking for.

i think its for the break in time. My cockers are the same way. I usually have the run the LPR slightly higher in the beginning to get the marker to shoot reliably. After everything breaks in i can lower it and run it smoother. But if i try lowering it before the marker is broken in, sometimes itll act a bit quirky.

Most recently it was the SR i just picked up. It was brand new and when i tried lowering the LPR in the beginning, i dont know if it was the LPR sticking or the ram sticking, but it wouldn't cycle reliably. When i readjsuted the LPR back up, it fired consistenly again. Yea it kicked, but after about 5k rounds, i was able to lower the LPR to feel a notciable difference in kick and the marker fired consistently and reliably.
