Most real paintballers know what, about Aurora? As their is 100+ threads a week about it, and none with any facts or real insite into how it's done or what it takes.

Dude, your a tool and don't know what your talking about. CUTSTEP took time out of his day to tech everyone something about where it comes from, and maybe evn where it might be going. Cut him some slack, and give credit where credit is due.

Yeah, that would be giving away valuable knowledge that is gained through expensive experimentation and hard earned education. Instead, he discussed the history of Aurora, some of his experiences with it, and some information of the relative rareness. He talked about everything but "how to" because "how to" is a trade secret. The process is worth money, but if everyone knew how to do it, the process would be more common, and less expensive/ valuable.

That might just be becasue you can not do it effectivly without hundreds of thousands of dollars in instrumentation. And I would say there are maybe one or two people on this sight who actually know what the process is and less than that, that know how to use those machines. What did you expect? To be able to do it in your garage?

Your a tool, and don't have a clue about how it is done. Nor will anyone tell you, as you would not be able to do it.

So just because someone didn't tell you how to do it, doesn't make the thread a fail. You prob. came in looking for something else, and when you didn't get it you got all pissy.

So now you know your not getting what you want, just leave and leave it at that. This is another reason why I have been playing less and selling all my stuff. Tools like you who don't have a clue about anything and think they should get what they want. And not what they earn, so when your willing to dish out the cash for the machines, schooling, and time then maybe people would be more willing to help you out.

Its not difficult to find what the process is, really. Its not even a necessarily difficult process. The prep is time intensive and attention to detail is a must. That and expensive equipment.

I would disagree with you on this. My fiancee does a very similar process for other things in graduate school. It might sound easy in theory but does require quite a bit of skill to do in practice

i didnt want to do it... i wanted to know how its done. I have no interest in getting done nor any want... ive seen it in person and its hardly impressive. its just like any other plating ive seen and is performed rather similarly to flat objects however how it was applied to a paintball gun does intrigue me...

he said this thread would answer all the questions... it didn't answer any of mine

lastly if you quite because of others dont be so easily perturbed by people and behaving like a tool.

how about this... I dont have any idea how its done, I just stick it in my microwave coating in used motor oil from an rv (only an rv works) and run it for a few minutes each part. once that done I have to use whale blubber (which is hard to get) to remove the oil build up and then polish it with a Euplectella aspergillum (deep water glass sponge). once you do that then you bake it for an hour and there you go.

it took me two years to figure out how to do this and then a lot of money experimenting on how to do it right. I cant tell you about the process due to contractual obligations with the company I am aligned with and the customers we have served.

Any chance you'd let us at least know what the coating is?

I always thought it looked like some sort of interference pattern, which doesnt make too much sense given that it should be durable enough for paintball.

Can you also specify what type of whale blubber? Orca? Humpback?
