Thanks alot,i'm getting a threshy in the near feature and picturized guides like this help out so much.

Question, you said almost any lube will be sufice. In general, dow 33 or 55? Will both work? And what about hater sauce v1/v2?

Stick to dow 33. Some of the none moving orings 55 is okay but 33 works just fine and one less thing to keep track of is you just use it. You do want to use a mix with slick honey or gun oil with dow33 on the bolt, Per DP.

Like I said in the thread, nearly any lube will work for all applications, but not all lubes will work well for all applications.

There are advantages and disadvantages to all lubes. The bolt's orings don't like Dow55 or other swelling lubes most of the time. The internal oring is a good example of when to use the swelling lubes. If you get a leak down the barrel it's because of the internal oring not sealing completely. If you apply a swelling lube to that oring and let it swell it can SOMETIMES fix the leak. If it doesn't you have to replace the oring. They can be helpful to create a good seal (like I just said) but if you keep using them, they will make the orings have more friction. More friction = slower cycle, possibly fsdo, bolt stick, lower efficiency, velocity fluctuation, yada yada yada. Dow33 is even too thick imo. 50/50 (dow33/gold cup) on bolt orings is what is suggested by DP and through trial and error, a lot of threshy members will agree.

Slick Honey is good but use VERY VERY little. Just a film. No need to mix with anything. Basically I would suggest that you apply it with your finger then with that same finger get as much off as you can. If slick honey is used, you'll find you don't need to lube your bolt nearly as often as the 50/50 mix.
So yes you can use whatever lube you have on hand. Both hater sauces are fine. I would suggest that if you want to keep using the threshold, spend a couple dollars and make the 50/50 mix. It seems to be one of the best choices.

If you're wondering about lubes check out this link. It's not completely accurate imo, but it'll give you a good basic knowledge of the lubes out there and what they do.

easiest way is go to your nearest professional bike shop and see if you can pick some up. If you ask nicely they might just give you an oz. Google if you would like to buy online.
Slick Honey lasts a long time. 1 Oz will last you years even if you lube your marker after each day of play. You only use it as a film on your parts. Lasts a long time on what ever you put it on so you don't need to reapply it often.

hey, you said "Both hater sauces are fine. I would suggest that if you want to keep using the threshold, spend a couple dollars and make the 50/50 mix." Are you saying that if I use hater sauce v2 on the bolt/bolt cap and not the 50/50 mix then my marker wont last as long? Is hater sauce v2 a good lube to use instead of dow33 since it is thinner? would there be a big difference between using a 50/50 mix and using hater sauce v2? If i were to use hater sauce v2 (or even dow33 by itself) can this harm my gun, or just maybe cause FSDO or bolt stick. basically what im getting at is...is hater sauce v2 a good lube to use on a threshold/g3 and will it hurt my gun.
Sorry for the questions but any advice would be great.

Hater v2 is fine. I put dow33 in there because it's really common. Most lubes will work fine, but some work better than others. Hater won't hurt the marker, I can't really think of a lube that would HURT the marker. As I said though, some lubes work better than others.

I would suggest to everyone to know what you are putting on your markers. Research what lubes do what and which ones work best for what applications.
Heres a good place to start. Lubes

Is it even possible to change out the threshold trigger? If so, where does one go (manufacturer)?

Also, what else could one do to make their threshold custom/ one of a kind?

no triggers as of now (i believe) acid customs was rumoured to be making one.

what you have to understand about the threshold is that it wasn't meant to be released to the public, but was due to consumer demands.
Therefore, there will not be many aftermarket parts.

but you can put on a barrel, reg, asa, and feedneck if you'd like
also there is the APE board and laser eyes.

ehh since we're posting in here i have a minor question.

i just serviced my hpr on my threshold, using the orings from oringmonkey. the 2 small orings on the piston seemed to make the seal really tight, as it was sorta hard to put it back together. this shouldn't be a problem though because they are just there to seal, right? (so now i basically have a really really good seal )

So an APE board and laser eyes from THIS SITE? Do most of the ASA's on the thresholds have leaking issues? Also, what is wrong with the reg and feedneck to need to upgrade it (if anything)?
