For everyone who painted with the Krylon Fusion. Did the Paint not chip right off the second you did anything with the mask. I fully painted my Dye i3 and the paint came off like nothing.

I don't think i did anything wrong. I Fully cleaned the mask with Rubbing Alcohol and waited week for it to dry.

I was thinking of trying Plasti-Dip (if I can get the old paint off) to see if it works better. Any thoughts?

Will take my time on the next one now that I know it's not that hard. Didn't do any prep besides spraying rubbing alcohol on the plastic. Rustoleum Paint for Plastic

Bandana is attached along the bottom of the mask with velcro for quick on and off. Was getting tired of showing up to class with welts on my neck.

How well is this paint holding up. Do you use this mask every day?

Ive used the mask about 5 times, it's too hot to play for most of us. Some of the edges that the paint overlaps into a "canyon" in the design meaning a dip, has scratched off, maybe you could call it a flake, but not peeled.

I feel like I should blame it on no prep and bad tape job. But the paint is working well imo. Has stood up to heat and humidity. As far as shots to the painted part, I by some way have only been shot in the lens and lens frame so can't speak to hits.

I know its a old post, but I figured I would share my 2 cents for anyone looking on here for help.

Personally, I would (have) take out the foam and re-glue it back it after words.
Also, to all that are painting a mask with spray paints:
-make sure to use a paint made for the surface you are painting (I know it sounds obvious)
-remember to ALWAYS do LIGHT coats of paint, not only will it dry faster but the finished product will look better.
-Scuff pads (Very fine) on your surface before painting will help the paint stick better. Also, clean the mask with hot water and soap after prep to make sure all dust/paint particles are off of the item. (you can also scuff [and wash] between layers of paint to help keep things smooth and looking nice)
-If you are worried about paint chipping, there are many protective clear coats in different finishes that would be a good finishing layer. (scuff and clean before clear coat too, with 600+ grit)
-and last (but not least) tip is that YouTube and google are your friends and this forum is too, don't be shy and ask questions if you need help.
