Will a team play 4 matches during prelims? (Granting there are at least 12 teams) More than 4? (I'm asking because I'm trying to estimate paint)

if the amount of teams isnt met... will there be a minimum number of sets/teams you play/play against? how many matches basically? just want to know.
like afpl you play minimum 4 sets of race to 2

No ID purchase, but must be registered with APPA. On the tournament any valid photo ID is required.
