Bad deal or...?
This seems overpriced at $175. What do you guys think? I like the anno, but there is obviously a lot wrong with it. I see it as a project gun, but I don't know what to offer the seller.

What's "obviously wrong with it" besides like 1 dollar of pneumatic hosing missing? Looks like an old Bob Long Signature Cocker.......but just wait for someone else to let you know what it is because I have long since lost my identifying skills.

Well I may have overeacted. Other than what looks like a cut trigger guard, I guess some of these guns didn't come with barrels, regs or ASA's, so they may not actually be missing.
At least you had some ID skills to forget, I'm still a giant rookie!

Yes cut trigger guards were very common. Back in the day there were no laws or field regulations requiring them. The cheapest way to get a double trigger was to cut the frame and slap on a double trigger shoe. I am pretty sure it came with a regulator and barrel however those are things most people have spare or can find pretty cheap. I interpreted your original post as you thinking that you had broken bits all over the gun.

Yup, cut trigger frame for a double shoe, like mine:

I too have seen this locally up here in Washington. It is advertised as a Shocktech cocker. Is the asking price of $175 as shown (not other details about internals are provided) in the ball park for it's value?

I dunno.. maybe Im just in an old-school-romance right now but $150ish I would pay for that. It might not have had a matching barrel or reg. Although I am a stickler for matching parts or matching theme on a gun.

Definitely a Badboyztoyz/Shocktech. $175 isn't a bad price for it. They didn't come with match regs or barrels. Back then, they asked the buyers what they wanted and then put it on the marker. It looks like it's still in pretty great shape. They also cut trigger guards on their older markers, usually prior to anno. You can ask if it was cut prior or post anno and see he did it himself, or if BBT did it before it was sent out.

For some reason the anno really caught my eye. All my other cockers are single color, and this just looked "old school cool". It has been up for sale before, and I was wondering why.

A splash anno was never really my thing, they are eye catching and some people put together a sweet looking package when they get the right color combo... it just never caught on with myself for whatever reason?
But having said that, the guns in this thread whether new or old definately bring the cool, and $150-$175 I think is fair. If he was dead set on $175 and you offered $150 I probably wouldn't let $25 be the end all to owning it. Because when its all finished up with a nice polished barrel and polished asa it will in fact be one sweet gun, and you could probably do it for under $225 to have it up and running.
Also, from what I can tell in the pics, it appears the frame was cut post anno... I zoomed in and the top where the screw is appears polished and the bottom by the trigger just looks cut and maybe sanded smooth?

Here are my $0.02 since I too have seen this gun come up for sale multiple times and I keep passing it over even though the price keeps coming down. On the surface, this is a great prize for a cocker collector. It's a BBT/Shocktech body in a great color splash (my opinion). It does have some notable minuses though. The cut trigger guard is the first. It was clearly done post anno so is a significant blemish. Cut guards are also banned at some fields, so it could be an issue for a regular play gun as well. The thing that really worries me though is that it appear the anno appears o be very worn on the feedback. I rarely see that and it implies either heavy use in its past or possibly a problem with the anno. It may be in worse condition than the pics seem o indicate. Add in the missing pneumatic hose, no mention of the state of the internals and the fact that its been through at least two owners selling it with the same old pics and I always decide to move along. That said, I don't think a buyer could go wrong in the $100-$150 range as long as there isn't some large hidden problem.

I need to talk to the seller and see what's going on. There was just something about the ad, and the fact that is has been up for sale recently, that struck me as odd. If it was cheap enough I would jump on it just for the anodizing. That color combo seems unique, and I would love to put something together using that body, but I didn't want to get screwed either. I might try to offer him $100 or something.

I offered the dude 130 a few days ago 'cause the gun was missing hoses, the ano was worn and it doesn't have all the matching pieces (if there are/were any in the past.) he didn't want to go that low, but there are hoses on the gun now he says!

i dont think the anno on the feedneck is worn....i dont think there is anno on the feedneck.
looks like the feedneck is actually chrome and your seeing the bodies reflection in it. it does kinda look like the bottom half is anno'd and the tops worn off.

Nobody will notice if you leave an feedneck on there 24/7.
She's still a nice gun, sucks that it's that shocktech body, they're not really worth much, plus it's a damn right feed! if it were a vert then it could probably sell for $200. Still, that's a pretty cool lookin gun regardless.

Well, it's off Craigslist now, but I'll keep an eye out for it. Sometimes a seller just won't budge on the price. Maybe he paid too much for it at some point and doesn't want to take a big loss. As much as I like it, I don't think I could go over $150.
