No the last new one was almoat a year ago with the vcom. The insight is not a vic. The new one is a newly developed version of the sc. They say it will get better efficiency than an sc and quieter than a vcom

well the V1 came with the SC engine right? or was it the PE?

and it's been the SC for a while, then there was the VCOM spool, and now the VIS... unless I'm missing something?

so on to actual shocker talk:

my sft is getting bad bolt stick after sitting between games (rec ball so 10-15 minutes)

its stock can/sleeve/guide with a MG sprung eigen that's well broken in. using sleek lube, lubed correctly (not over/under lubed)

dwell: 13ms
fsdo: 20ms

Insight is a blowforward spool whereas the VCOM is a balanced piston similar to an unsprung eigen'd shocker.

V1 came with sc and that was used until the vcom came about. It is a great engine

I turn air off in between games. To me it sounds like you need to switch lube or double check the settings those sound way of
