VERY bad efficiency and FPS with Ripper 2
Ok, so I've been waiting a few days to post since I was busy, but I had very bad efficiency with my ripper. Its got all of the upgrades I've listed in my thread, but here's the gist of it
90* barbs, high flow barbs and hose, Eigenram with brass weight and poppet spring, CP HPR, Hybrid Verdikt LPR cap with piston and spring/coin, AKA SCMIII internals in Alias LPR body, VP venturi bolt
I think that's all that should affect my air pressures. I had my LPR at 90 and sweet spotted the HPR based on that and was only getting 260-270 on the chrono. Also, with a 3k fill, I was only getting a hopper and a pod before I hit about 1k in my tank.
My paint was a low grade Empire Heat field paint that was small in my bore, that is a factor I'm thinking, but I don't think I should be getting such bad FPS and efficiency
thanks

90 on the LPR is pretty high especially with an eigenram. might be part of your problem

Yeah, thats what I was thinking, but I can't get the FPS up high enough without the LPR being set that high

What size of tank is it?
What's your dwell at?
Your Lpr is to high, sweet spot your regs the correct way and see how that goes.

You've gone past the sweetspot on the LPR and it's closing the valve too quickly. You should be closer to 60-70 psi on the LPR if memory serves for Eigenrams.
Make sure your dwell is set properly as well.

I had my dwell at 9 that day, as per the Eigenram manual
My tank is a 68/45 and I had the reg set on high pressure (Ninja adjustable w/2 shims)
I tried sweet spotting at 60-70 on the LPR and it would only get to 240-250ish if I remember correctly, I'll try it again, but the efficiency is what concerns me. I would like to get the FPS up, but not needing a fill after a hopper and a pod is what concerns me

^^^This.
~70 on LPR should be close.
Reset the board to stock.
Make sure your hoses have no kinks.
Change the ram orings.
Make sure the bolt moves freely when degassed.
Set HPR to chrono.
What size tank?

68 Cu in./ 4500 PSI is my tank size, I've got a Ninja adj. reg that was set to high pressure that day (2 shims) I've since taken those shims out
I'll try the stock settings as well as lowing my LPR to 70

Throw a stock bolt in that thing and try it again. LPR 70ish - then again, your gauge could also be ****ed.

My Ripper 2 with Eigenram was in the ballpark of 50psi on the LPR. Anything over this and it passed the sweetspot and the velocity fell. The gun also sounded like a cannon when shooting and cycled slower.
Definately sweetspot the regs... ignore the pressures. The gun will tell you where it needs to be over the chrono.

Poor paint-to-bore match will also result in poor efficiency & consistency. It will help if you have a tighter fit.

I agree with what everyone is saying about your LPR pressure. Set it between 50-65 and see what happens... Once you're got a desirable velocity then take a look at your dwell. I always just brute force the propper setting out, as recommended settings are just that, only recommended. I tune dwell in the following way.
Based on the solenoid (red/black vs green/black wires if Humphry) put your dwell at the factory specified unit (16ms vs 8ms using the above). Be careful as to how you set your dwell, as many boards do not measure milliseconds in the same number of "clicks". Take a virtue board for example. Then head to a chrono and give a test fire. If fps raised, retune your reg(s) to lower velocity. Then, decrease dwell one unit followed by shooting over a chrono. As soon as you lower fps by lowering dwell, you know that you have electronically caused a difference in air-flow, and should raise back up to the setting just previous to this shot. Then you have reached proper dwell for the given day circumstances, all things considered.
I know it take a little while, and a little paint, but trust me, there's nothing better than an on point ripper. Hope this helps, and let us know what happens.

Thanks man I will definitely use your method for setting my dwell
I'm going to move my LPR pressure back, as I was already concerned with it being at 90, my board settings are a happy medium between stock, Lurker and the Rendition settings suggested by Youknowwho from Youknowwhere
I left my dwell at 8 though because I'd like to have a lower dwell so that I can hopefully get some better efficiency than a hopper and a pod, which as you can tell, bothers me
Thanks everyone!!

I personally have never touched my dwell and have had fairly good efficiency on all my Timmy's.

Rendition settings isn't anything special. There is really no reason to deviate from stock (aside from debounce, and cap)
Even with the Eigen, stock settings work great. It's just you need to correctly sweet spot your regs.

What board are you using? If you're using a virtue you may actually need higher dwell because of how the code is written.

New battery, I've only used it for one day, and I've got a good one in the pack, so its not the battery
I've got the stock Frenzy, I'm probably going to leave my dwell at 8, I'd rather not have even more variables to deal with definitely going to re-sweetspot today though
