How wrong you are, sir.
Yeah well that is the difference between thoughts and facts isn't it? And so what if I was wrong, I still believe he is an idiot with a lack of grasp on reality and my "Thought" is based solely on teh quoted item in the first post.

War is not the answer. War is the question. Yes is the answer.

War is necessary. No dove can ever well establish an argument against every war.

Well technically it is a conundrum because without war there could be no peace, but it still stands to reason that every war America has participated in since World War II has no true reason behind it merely theories.

Not exactly a War more of a political movement, however, good point.

It is our fault he had those weapons in the first place. It's our pesky middle east meddling that is the root cause of all this.

No, its our dependence on foreign oil. The one valid comment I have heard from an anti war person was that if we had just spent the same amount of cash on alternate energy as we did on Iraq, we could all just buy fuel cell vehicles and say hell with them. That wouldnt upset me much (as long as the can get a 300 hp one for my Expedition).

That's a pretty poor argument. Since when are we in Iraq purely for oil? Yeah, sure, on the same token we can just stop spending money on education, make it SOLELY a local matter, and do the same.

We can drill in Alaska and have lines set up in 10 years if we take our time. If it is an emergency, probably a couple years at best.

We are in Iraq to begin "draining the swamp." What is the whole reason to drain the swamp? To being stability to the middle east. Why do we need a stable middle east? oil. Yea, terrorism is valid as well and we want to portect Israel but we can handle that a lot easier if we didnt have to worry about maintaining our oft tenuous relations with the oil owning govt's. And again, I dont see how you can make the jump from oil to education unless you were trying to bring in another thread. I do agree with school privitization however on the basis that it will end mediocrity at least for those who care (and those that dont can become the subservients of our society--a perfectly necessary segment).

Yup, starting with the decision to set up Israel... oh wait! That wasn't just us, but nobody else wants to take their share of responsibility for it and they leave us holding the bag and looking evil to the Muslims...

OK, either I type better AND faster drunk, or I'll see lots of typos tomorrow....

No need for religion. Historical reference is enough. Your cutoff point is after WWII... how did you come to choose THAT point? Why not an earlier point? What makes the Palestinians the magical people you defend, instead of the people before them, or before them?

BTW what body, exactly, established Israel again? What circumstances led to Israels's expansion again? Come on now... you're just supporting the Palestinians because it suits your political viewpoint.
Ok you take it from here... Where would YOU like to begin?

The UN did it... After WWII... And I'd continue to hold America and th UK responsible... After WWII every other nations biggest concern was rebuilding its own nation... I think we could have proposed anything to the UN and got it to pass considering the amount of reperations we were giving out... As for Israels expansion... it depends on which settlement your talking about... there's a lot of them... However, one of the larger land grabs was after a war that Israel won, but even the newly drawn lines AFTER that war have been changing... so really that isn't a valid point...

It amuses me to no end how you imply that we are anti-war.
For my part, at least, I'm not anti-war. I'm against fighting a war in a counter-productive way. Stupidity is no way to win a war.

The idiot who started this thread. And by "we" I mean those of us that oppose the war in Iraq.

My political world has been turned upside down by this thread. I'm not sure I'm so liberal anymore. As a matter of fact... I hate liberals now. I'm going to unite with conservatives!
