The chicken or the egg?

Everyone has heard about this debate but what is the real answere?

I believe that the chicken had come first because something had to lay that first egg.
I think that as the organisms have grown and evolved, it made some sort of creature that resemble "chicken" one day. Then that reprduced and over time, it became the chicken of today..

....What do you guys think?

The chicken followed by way of evolution.

I believe in God.

I was the first one to say egg I win. And what does this have to do with religion?

The Egg. You say that the chicken had to come first, but that egg already had the genetic makeup of a chicken before it was born into a chicken.

*Warning, pure scientific explaination* Well depends on the answer you are looking for. The rooster came first in a sense because when life spontaneously came about it was a single organism. No egg. Then after a LONG LONG time a chicken came about from a mutated organism before it. Which could be called evolution. BUT if this mutated/evolved creature was born from an organism that layed eggs then the egg came first. Which it proly did lay eggs because there were birds of sorts around.

EDIT: read that article, hooray me!
