Darryl took it out to see @ chi PSP.
Aired it up today.. LEAKS.

Just reapplied the stuff.. hopefully it'll be good to go. I think the key is to let it sit for 40 min or so (not the 4 hours) and stick it in the marker. That way it effectively "sweet spots" itself. We'll see..

THIS FRIGGIN WORKS. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I noticed that you can sweet spot it by turning the front cover back and forth till the leak is completely gone.

BTW you can pick up Plasti dip at your local NAPA or Lowes

Side note, I did all this and still had a really bad leak, took the top off and found it was missing a small oring. So if someone else is still leaking, check that.

Top as in the entire top half or just the top part with the bolt?

Looks like a specific part of the valve is damaging the plasticdip.
Going to attempt to sand it down a bit and re-dip.

Sand on the valve some. Mine works fine, to a point. If I try and shoot over 200 fps I start leaking out of the hole in the foregrip, any idea how to fix that?

I would have avoided the plasti-dip personally and tried to figure out if you can sand the valve and throw an oring in there or something. To me the plasti-dip seems like it will mar up the inside of the body or cause extra friction. Then again I'm not a plasti-dip expert.

Isn't the part of the valve you are dipping delrin? Does that stuff bond with plasti-dip well?

Partially off-topic- but- is the ram in your picture missing some kind of rubber bumper on the end? Just curious. I coulda sworn my friends 09 imp has a bumper on it there. I'd look at it but its still in the mail otw back from GoG after the feedneck broke off for the second time.

Also who actually worked on your imp when you sent it into GoG? was it Keith? Or one of the cronies?

I had to personally request that he fix the imp this time it went in, since the feedneck repair didn't hold up for **** last time.

What'd they even say to you when they sent the gun back? "Lol sorry guy we cant fix the gun we make... and wont give you new parts to make it work"?

Did you guys try using dow-55 in the leaky area to see if you can get the orings to swell up and seal better?
It is delrin, and it bonds just fine.
The leak has nothing to do with o rings.
Can't throw an o ring on, tried that, plastic doesn't mar metal

Super ninja edit...

I have talked to everyone at GOG and DLX, they assure me they have no working valves.

Just jb weld the feedneck anyway.

You caught my post before I ninja edited it. After I re-read the thread I had to edit cuz I was off base on it.

One of you should talk to CS or Speeds, or some of the other guru's over in the Shocker forum. Some of those guys would be able to replicate the valve parts (especially CS) and may be able to help come up with a solution.

They don't make the gun, and never have. They simply bought what smart parts had left at the facility. They may end up making a similar gun in the future, but for now they are just stockpiling broken imps.

Also good people to look at are Ccluff and Strangeballa, Lurker maybe even Gisgo. If all of those shocker guys can't machine something to replace your part- they will probably know someone who can.

If I get the 09 back any time soon I might take a look at it and check out the fit of the parts. The 09 I've been shooting/teching doesn't have this valve leak yet, and I've pulled the valve to relube stuff a few times.

Before smart parts went under, they released a new valve stem which some markers got. They, to this day, have no know issues that I am aware of.

Any idea what made them different, or what serial # approx the new valve stems started to get put in?

The 09 Ive been using has probably less then 50 cases through it (with 2 broken feednecks and torched bolts) thus far.

They were designed differently and made out of a tougher material. I don't know an exact number, but I've owned serial number 71 and 69 and they had the old stem. I'm guessing it was slightly over 100 since it came out about a month after I had my imp.

I have #210 w/ a bad stem.

I believe keith did it. My strange sft took a lot of time and I got on his *** about it. He was the one who I spoke to both times.

when it comes to the plastic dipping you might want to consider masking off the bottom section of the valve stem and dipping it completely up to the depth you need. Then when it dries you can take a razor, slit the plastic dip at the masking line and peel off the mask. it would leave you with a perfectly even coat as apposed to trying to brush it on a certain section.

I forgot to mention that, ^ this is exactly what I did as opposed to the brushing
